September is National College Savings Month, a good reminder that preparing for education after high school doesn’t have to happen all at once.

Saving is one part of the picture, alongside scholarships, grants, financial aid, work and other resources. What matters most is starting the conversation early: What might education cost? What options are available? What can we begin doing now?

Small steps today can help create more choices tomorrow.

Financial Beginnings offers free online financial education classes at https://hubs.li/Q04wsrYc0, with practical guidance to help individuals and families build knowledge, confidence and stronger financial habits.

At Financial Beginnings, that work means helping youth and adults build the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions. It happens in classrooms, community organizations, correctional facilities, workforce programs and other spaces where people are navigating real financial choices.

And it happens because people choose to get involved.

You can be part of that work:
- Donate to help expand access to practical financial education
- Volunteer to bring financial education directly to learners
- Partner with us to reach more communities
- Share our work and help more people discover Financial Beginnings

National Nonprofit Day is a reminder that meaningful change is built through participation. We’re grateful to everyone who helps make this work possible.

Financial education took center court in Seattle last night!

Financial Beginnings was honored to be recognized as a U.S. Bank grant recipient during last night's Seattle Storm vs Indiana Fever game, celebrating a partnership that helps expand access to practical financial education in communities across the region.

We also had the opportunity to connect directly with fans. Financial Beginnings team members Jason and Noah hosted a table on the concourse, sharing Financial Footings workbooks with attendees to take home and use with young learners.

We’re grateful to U.S. Bank for investing in this work, recognizing Financial Beginnings and creating opportunities for us to bring financial education directly into the community.

A great night of basketball, partnership and financial education!

Partnership is what turns financial education into action.

Yesterday, Financial Beginnings CEO Ronecca Norvell and Roxanne Myslewski joined U.S. Bank's Power of Connectivity Seattle Town Hall to share how our partnership is expanding access to practical financial education for youth, adults and educators.

U.S. Bank’s support extends across our work, from philanthropic investment in our Educator Training Center (https://hubs.li/Q04r9rP40) to licensing Financial Footings curriculum and engaging U.S. Bank associates as volunteer financial education facilitators.

And that partnership is reaching people. Through curriculum licensing, Financial Beginnings and U.S. Bank have reached more than 22,800 learners in 21 states. In Oregon and Washington alone, U.S. Bank volunteers have helped deliver 42 classes to more than 700 learners.

A special thank you to Esther Richmond and the Seattle team for their longstanding leadership, advocacy and commitment to expanding financial education throughout the Pacific Northwest.

We’re grateful for partners like U.S. Bank who invest not only resources, but also their people, expertise and time into helping communities build financial confidence.

117 young people. $91,000+ saved. Zero co-signers required.

That's the impact of this year's Youth Villages financial literacy cohort in Oregon, built in partnership with OnPoint Community Credit Union to help youth aging out of foster care build real financial footing.

Only 21% of youth who age out of foster care have a bank account. Just 17% have $1,000 saved. This program is closing that gap — through workshops, savings matches, and accounts teens can open on their own.

Financial literacy changes outcomes.
