If families can’t apply online and need help, click here to find Family Navigators who can apply on their behalf.

Who is eligible for PFA?

There are just two eligibility requirements to participate in PFA. Children must be 3 or 4 years old on or before September 1 of the preschool year, and have a parent or legal guardian living in Multnomah County.

Solid Foundation is seeking a full-time committed, heart-led Lead Teacher who is ready to make a long-term impact. We are looking for someone who can commit to at least two school years (March 2026 – August 2027).

This position requires someone with the mental capacity, patience, and emotional awareness to thrive in a special needs / high energy classroom of 8 students. Our students require intentional guidance, strong relationships, and adults who can remain calm, regulated, and responsive throughout the day.

We are seeking someone who:

-Has classroom or in-home childcare experience

-Is truly a teacher at heart looking to grow in the field of education.

-Is passionate about building and sustaining a high-quality program

-Operates with integrity and professionalism

-Understands that teaching is not just a job — it is a lifestyle and a calling

-Can work collaboratively and bring new ideas to the classroom

-Is culturally aware and able to work in a diverse setting

-Has strong leadership skills and can confidently make decisions that support student safety and emotional well-being

-Has a strong work ethic and can work independently (some days may require 1:1 ratio support) We have 8 preschool students per class. Minimum 2 Teachers. Solid Foundation has been operating with 3 Teachers.

-We are looking for a Lead Teacher who Is reliable, consistent, and maintains strong attendance

-Someone who Is willing to narrate, engage, and talk with children throughout the day to support vocabulary development and relationship-building throughout the day.

This is an ideal role for someone who:

-Wants to make a difference in the community and education system

-Has dreamed of being a childcare provider or entrepreneur

-Is interested in leading adults and helping shape program culture

-Values structure, accountability, and teamwork

-This is a full-time leadership position for someone ready to invest deeply in children, families, and the future of early childhood education
