We’re pretty thrilled about this one. 💛🎛️

Electronic Music Club was named one of PDX Parent’s Top 5 Reader Favorite after-school programs for 2026!

We started EMC because we wanted kids to have a place where they could actually get their hands on the tools of modern music-making for building beats, experimenting with synths, recording sounds, and turning their own ideas into music.

Getting this kind of recognition from Portland families means a whole lot to us.

And the timing couldn’t be better: Fall registration is happening now! We’ll be bringing Electronic Music Club to schools around the Portland, Eugene AND, Seattle areas this fall, with another season of music making.

Electronic Music Club is back this fall at schools across the Portland area! Students make beats, build songs, and learn real music production using Ableton Live.

Had our first .mu Duo jam at camp yesterday!

We started by pairing students up and challenging them to figure out the Duo’s controls on their own. Then, as a class, we created whiteboard definitions for each function and connected what they discovered to real synthesis terms.

Then came the wild part: we synced four Datos to a Korg Volca Drum and made some truly glorious noise.

Equal parts music lesson, science experiment, and tiny synth orchestra.

Did you know a Super Nintendo controller can become a musical instrument? 🎮🎵

This week at Electronic Music Club is Video Game Music Camp, and one of our students is making music in Ableton Live with a classic Super Nintendo controller!

Thanks to Yeuda Ben-Atar ‘s awesome Max for Live device, the controller becomes a fully playable MIDI instrument. It’s a fun reminder that sometimes the best way to teach music production is to make people forget they’re learning.

We love finding creative ways to connect music, technology, and the games our students already love.
