Findley Proud: Oregon Writing Festival

Congratulations to Annalisa Lee, Nikshepa Anil, and Akshatha Balu for representing Findley Elementary at the 41st annual Oregon Writing Festival. They each shared original pieces of writing and gained fresh inspiration from professional authors. We are so proud of these students for their dedication to the craft and for representing our school community with such creativity!

Happy National School Nurse Day to Hunter! Nurse Hunter helps keep Findley healthy all year around. He provides us medical support and helps families navigate health challenges at school. We appreciate Hunter and all the work he does at Findley. Thank you, Hunter!

Bike to School Week is THIS WEEK! Be sure to fill up
your child's tires so that they can participate. Get your student excited to ride: sometime this week the “bike fairy” will be leaving prizes on any wheels in the school bike racks. We hope that you join in on the fun and use this as a chance to show your child how enjoyable active transportation can be!

Through their hard work and tireless dedication, Jackie, Phil, Ana, and Aya, our Nutrition Services staff ensure that every student has access to nutritious meals during the school day. Whether it is breakfast or lunch, they help feed our Dragon's hungry minds and work hard to provide balanced meals to all students. To date, our NS staff have provided over 65,061 meals and will continue to do so every school day to ensure no student goes hungry. Let's give a hand to Jackie, Phil, Ana, and Aya!

On Friday, 2nd grade students participated in a "book tasting" at The Reading Cafe! This room transformation provided a fun way for students to sample books from several different genres in a restaurant setting. Many students discovered a new book series to try, and everyone left with a menu of 3-4 books they sampled.

Last week's Walking School Bus was wet! Despite the rain, these Dragons chose to walk to school and help reduce carbon emissions. Take a look at the fun they had!
