I really liked this article! Mainly because it had a solid way of looking at the effects of different styles of training programs. From this research, it supports the idea of using subjective and objective assessments to help guide your training. Is one superior than the other? According to the this research, subjective assessments were better than HRV, but I think we may be splitting hairs a little bit. What works for you? THAT’S the question. If one is better for you, use it! If neither, training still improves! Optimizing is relative, not absolute.
