The Hajj is a pilgrimage that every Muslim must make at least once in their lives where they travel to the city of Mecca, Saudi Arabia to walk around the Kaaba, the most sacred place on Earth. Other rituals accompany the pilgrimage, such as changing into specific clothing and removing hair. The pilgrimage absolves the pilgrim of all previous sins. The Indian Citizenship Act granted Native Americans US citizenship in 1924, though it was still illegal for them to vote depending on which state they lived in until 1957. After the Citizenship act was passed, the 1934 Indian Reorganization Act also passed which gave individual tribes more autonomy from the US government. Hedy Lamarr, a woman of many talents as the co-founder of frequency-hopping technology that was used in the fight against N**i Germany. She, along with her partner, won the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) Pioneer Award. She was also a renowned actress during Hollywood's golden age. To honor those that have died in the line of duty, the National Moment of Remembrance act was passed in 2000. It asks Americans to pause at 3pm for one minute on Memorial day to remember those that have died in service to the United States.
