We’re heading into the final month of Fun Fridays, and it’s such a special time of year — longer days, more outdoor play, and meaningful connection in nature 🌲

Each Friday in May is designed to give children a mix of hands-on learning, creativity, social connection, and real-world skills — from scavenger hunts and herbal crafting to navigation games and our end-of-season celebration.

Our camps run Tuesday–Thursday, 9am–3pm, with a flexible structure that allows you to choose what works best for your family.

Hi Fern & Fir families,

Spring has officially arrived, and we’ve been soaking up every bit of it 🌱

Over the past few weeks our Fridays kids have been fully immersed in hands-on learning and play — the kind that sticks.

We’ve been carving, exploring animal tracks, and diving into how animals adapt to their environments… and even connecting it back to ourselves — how humans have evolved, adapted, and learned to survive and thrive.

We’ve also been practicing fire building (safely and intentionally), working with tools, and building confidence through real experiences — not worksheets.

One of our favorite parts? Our adventures to Max Patterson Park — just a 10-minute walk from our indoor space. It’s become an extension of our classroom, offering:
• Splash pad fun
• Tennis courts
• Open fields for games
• Playground exploration

And just a little further — Dahl Beach Park (only a 15-minute walk!) gives us:
• Sand bar play
• River exploration
• Wide open field space
• Another beautiful playground

Come play, explore, and connect with nature in a way kids won’t forget 🌿🐾

Spring wildflowers are about to take over the Columbia River Gorge!🌼🌄

These are some of the best spots in Washington and Oregon to see hillsides covered in yellow balsamroot and colorful blooms. Timing usually peaks April through May, but it can vary a little each year depending on weather.

Perfect time to start planning your spring hikes. 🌿✨

What a beautiful way to close out our last two days of camp—sunshine, creativity, and kids fully immersed in nature!

We ventured out to the river, built forts, and followed the children’s lead as they expanded on structures already gifted by the land. It was such a powerful reminder—nature provides, and we adapt alongside it. The kids didn’t need instructions… just space, time, and each other.

We saw new friendships form, especially in our carving circle (turns out… we’ve got some naturals 👀). Fairy houses tucked into the forest, clay creations brought to life—including one incredible dragon staff—and so many moments where imagination took the lead.

We also wrapped up with a spring scavenger hunt—spotting early blooms, listening for birds along the river, and noticing the subtle shifts of the season waking up around us.
