Exploring the enclosure schema is one way that young minds develop problem solving, spatial, and body awareness. Building forts is a fun and imaginative way to play alone or collaboratively!

Couch cushions, boxes, blocks, sheets, and big magnetiles are some of our favorite materials. 📦❤️

"a bug hotel" -- a collaborative mixed media 3d art project (materials: upcycled cardboard packaging material, paint, glue, pom poms, colorful hole punches, popsicle sticks, glitter, upcycled upholstery sample squares, upcycled artificial vines)

All of our art at Seedlings is process based. Materials are presented based on the interests of the children, and they are free to create as they wish. The children came to the idea that this creation was "a bug hotel" as they were creating it together, over many days. After they decided they were finished creating it, their bug hotel was available in the classroom with a basket of pretend bugs nearby, for small world play.

Infant play space -- open ended play objects arranged thoughtfully around the area for curious hands to reach and grasp for, and comfortable adult floor seating nearby for teachers to settle in to attuned observation of our youngest children.

(Our next infant cohort will begin in the Fall of 2026. Our current cohort )
