Grapes from old vines are the 💣. That is because the roots are longer (bringing up more unique flavors) and their grapes have a more concentrated flavor. To be considered a "Old Vine" wine, the vines are over 50 years. However, there is no vine police to enforce that. If you like Zinfandel, look for an "Old Vine" Zin next time you pick up a bottle. It will knock your socks off!
