🏳️‍🌈 El Pride no es una moda. Es una necesidad.

Cada vez que alguien dice “ya no hace falta marchar”, “¿por qué tanto escándalo?” o “a mí no me molesta, pero que no lo presuman”, hay una persona en silencio, sintiéndose rota, sola o equivocada por simplemente existir.

💔 Hoy, mientras tú lees esto, hay alguien que piensa que ser quien es lo hace menos digno de amor, de respeto, de vida.

Por eso el Pride importa. Porque aún vivimos en un mundo donde amar libremente o identificarse con autenticidad es motivo de burlas, amenazas o abandono.

🌈 El orgullo no es vanidad.
🌈 Es respuesta a siglos de vergüenza impuesta.
🌈 Es un escudo para quienes aún no pueden salir.
🌈 Es un faro para quienes aún creen que estar vivos es un error.

No celebramos solo diversidad: celebramos resistencia, memoria, y el derecho a vivir sin miedo.

📣 Por cada infancia LGBTQ+ que aún no encuentra refugio.
📣 Por cada persona que cree que esconderse es la única opción.
📣 Por quienes ya no están, pero abrieron camino.

Porque vivir con orgullo también es una forma de salvar vidas.

📚 My daughter's thirst for knowledge inspires me so much! She wanted to dive into Spanish colonization over the summer, but we ran out of time! 😅

We're getting started now, and I have to say, I'm totally out of my element. Social studies and history were my least favorite subjects in school, and I totally avoided them in college.

To begin with, I'm turning to "An African American and Latinx History of the United States" for guidance. I listened to it on audio and kept it on my list for references. Check out our stories for the link to purchase a copy 👆🏼or head to your local library.

Any suggestions or resources to kickstart this journey? Of course, my preference is in Spanish but we'll work with any good leads 😉🌍💡

It seriously hasn't been that long since I learned the word 'igualdad' in Spanish 🫣

Don't get me wrong; I knew about equality and there was plenty of discourse about (and support for) it in my family growing up. But having a specific term, and learning more language that describes it, allow me more ways and greater depth with which to talk about it with my kids.

I love having more and more a mi alcance for discussing important societal issues with my kiddos!

Today we celebrate the incredible man who is always by our side, supporting and loving unconditionally. To my husband, who not only fosters our Spanish, but also has made great strides in learning it. You're an exceptional father to our children, and we are endlessly grateful.

Happy Father's Day to all fathers and father figures that hold a special place in our hearts!

This one is tough for me y'all! I recently had my Amazon account set on Spanish and I was all 🤯

I've been in many different places in my Spanish journey, but online shopping and commerce are definitely new to me!

Are your screens set to Spanish, English, or does it depend?

I borrowed this book from the library for myself, but I was able read some of it with my daughter. It sparked some great discussion! (Such as her asking me why I was buying heels to attend a wedding even though I didn't like the idea of them 😭 )

I feel informed and able to communicate about women's rights and equity...in English. I hope to be able to converse and write more about the topic in Spanish, especially with my kids!

Creo que el tiempo es nuestro recurso más valioso.

Es fácil para mí recordarlo cuando visitamos a nuestras familias lejanas. Soy selectiva en escoger nuestras actividades y trato de asegurar que tengámos suficiente tiempo para simplemente convivir.

Pero se me olvida cuando estamos en la vida cotidiana, con nuestras obligaciones y tareas. En la última semana, mi chiquita me ha recordado de lo importante que es priorizar lo que valoramos. 💕

A causa de esto, he planeado tiempo para estar en casa juntos, sin actividades estructaradas, para tener el espacio en cual conectarnos uno al otro. Igual he ajustado nuestros planes para darles más libertad a los chicos de escoger su propia dirección.

I give full credit to my daughter's teachers for my learning this one. My littles are at an International Baccalaureate (IB) school, so they approach learning through open inquiry and exploration.

This is another example of how our village helps us expand our Spanish learning.
