My name is Jeremy Archer. I have 16+ years of experience working with youth aged infant to middle school. Nine of those years I spent in before and after school programs as well as early learning centers. The rest in summer camp where I eventually directed the program. Most recently I acted as a tutor for students working on distance learning in the last center I worked in. With the pandemic and school closures, I had the opportunity to work with a small group of students as they took on the task of continuing, and for some starting, their education remotely. I assisted with homework, gently redirected students who struggled with focus (it’s hard to sit still and stare at a screen that long when you’re a kiddo), served as a proxy for teachers in order to complete regular school assessments, provided tech support, helped students overcome language barriers so they didn’t fall behind. I strived every day to assure and reassure my students that they are smart and capable of doing this. My approach to students and challenges are the same. I don’t think about if, I only think about how. If there is a challenge, roadblock or dilemma we find a way. I have an acumen for helping students find their strength and plan to bring the following commitment to your student and to your family. When you’re one of my students, there is no failure and no mountain too tall. There are only opportunities for growth.
If you have a child currently doing distance learning and would like some support, give me a call.
