Words by Ms. Mary, our incredible school social worker, thank you for the work you do and sharing this message. Info on how to support Portland Backpack below.
“Through compassion, unity and loving each other enough to treat one another how we want to be treated is our responsibility and my personal purpose.
Access to food is a human right.
I am grateful to serve community each day and being trusted so deeply to influence and educate students on ways they can also serve within their community.
When we pause and allow ourselves to overlook our differences and begin to foster togetherness division from our neighbors ends and we provide through love.
Thank you, KGW for visiting my friends and I at Woodlawn and continuing to share the message of my favorite non-profit, Portland Backpack.”
If you want to be part of our movement it’s easy! Go to https://www.portlandbackpack.org or send me a message to join us in keeping kids in our community fed.

Portland Backpack drops off bags of food every week for students to take home with them over the weekend and has a waiting list for schools needing its food bags.
