Outdoor School Information for 6th grade families

Tuesday April 14th, buses will leave George Middle School AT 11:30AM! Please make sure your student is here no later than 11:15am with all of their belongings.

Students can arrive earlier if needed. They will bring their gear to the cafeteria. A hot lunch will be served at 10:45am for students who are here

BUSES WILL NOT WAIT IF YOU ARE NOT HERE. If your student misses the bus, you can drive them to camp but call the camp to let them know you are on your way.

All buses are scheduled to return on Friday April 17th at 1:30pm and families are expected to pick up their student and take them home for the rest of the school day.

When packing for your student, please label everything you can, including the outside of their bags, with their name. If you have any questions, please contact Assistant Principal Olivas [email protected] or call George. You can also reach the MESD Outdoor School office at 503-257-1600.

UPDATE: All of our schools will remain on a regular schedule tomorrow (Tuesday, September 2).

We do not anticipate any weather-related alterations to any school days for the rest of the week. If that changes, you will hear from us.

After careful review of conditions across our schools, we have made the decision to release all students two hours early tomorrow, Friday, August 29.

We recognize that this disruption is difficult for families, and we are grateful for your flexibility. Please know that our priority is keeping your children safe and supported while also preserving instructional time.

Students should plan to attend school on Tuesday, and we will closely monitor temperatures over the weekend to determine if additional adjustments are necessary.

What to expect at 6th grade Jumpstart! We can't wait to see you and welcome you to middle school!

Starting next week, free meals will be offered to kids under 18 years old.

We're joining Centennial School District, Parkrose School District, and David Douglas School District to provide meals at parks across the city all summer long. Meals will be served Monday through Friday from 10 am-2 pm The meals are available to kids 18 and under. Children must be in person to receive the meals, which must be eaten on site.
