Dollars for Scholars is Southeast Michigan's leading private nonprofit scholarship program providing guidance, resources, and experiences to help students with financial needs thrive throughout high school and achieve post-secondary success.

We are so glad to have spent some time with our Next Level Advisers before the start of the school year! We had a great time sharing updates about the organization, welcoming new advisers, and watching everyone do their best runway walk!

We're lucky to have such amazing advisers and we can't wait to see all the great ways they show up for and support our scholars this year.🎉

The Spark Award is the highest recognition bestowed by Detroit Regional Dollars for scholars to someone who has been a catalyst for change and who's influence has helped DRDFS grow, thrive, and continue its mission of expanding educational opportunity.

This year, we awarded Vamsee Puvvala. Vamsee has been very instrumental in the success of the organization through his dedication to fundraising for the Annual Celebration Luncheon and making meaningful connections. We are incredibly grateful for his commitment to DRDFS and we were honored to recognize him at our annual summer leadership meeting.

This month, we had the pleasure of bringing together our Executive Advisory Board for an engaging and insightful meeting, hosted and led by EAB Chair Jeff Judge. We shared organizational updates, exchanged ideas, and had meaningful conversations about the work ahead.

We're grateful to our EAB members for their continued partnernship , expertise, and thoughtful perspectives.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of our Board President, Bill Kingsley.

Bill believed deeply in our students and in the mission of Detroit Regional Dollars for Scholars. He brought wisdom, steady leadership, and an incredible business mind to every conversation, helping guide our organization through some of its most important moments.

Beyond that, Bill was a trusted mentor, a wonderful friend, and someone who genuinely cared about the people around him. We are incredibly grateful for his leadership, his kindness, and the lasting impact he made on our organization and the students we serve.

Our hearts are with Bill's family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
