Most parents judge soccer development by what they can see:
⚽ Dribbling
⚽ Passing
⚽ Shooting
⚽ First Touch
Those things matter.
But great players are built on more than what happens on the ball.
Can they recognize space?
Can they make decisions under pressure?
Can they adapt when the game changes?
Can they stay confident after mistakes?
At Soccer HQ, we develop players through four pillars:
🟣 Technical
🟢 Tactical
🟠 Physical
🟡 Mindset
The pillars stay the same. The lessons evolve as players grow.
Different ages.
Different lessons.
One philosophy.

Still looking for a summer camp? It’s not too late.
We’ve got three weeks left this summer — one for every age group — and all of it indoors, out of the Florida heat. No rainouts, no melting in a parking lot. Just real soccer in air conditioning.
→ Ages 5–7: June 22–26
→ Ages 8–10: July 20–24
→ Ages 11–13: July 13–17
Mon–Fri, 9–12. $300/week. Swipe to find your kid’s week, then register at the link in bio or call (727) 396-2162.
This is the age where a kid decides whether soccer is fun or stressful. We keep it fun — touches on the ball, small games, and coaching that makes a 6-year-old want to come back the next day. June 22–26, 9 to noon.
Right around now, kids start figuring out what kind of player they are. Our job isn’t to rush that — it’s to give them enough touches and real game situations that they start trusting their own decisions. July 20–24, 9 to noon.
By this age your kid knows whether they love this game. This week is for the ones who do — faster decisions, sharper habits, more demanded of them than a rec setting ever will. July 13–17, 9 to noon.
Three weeks. Three age groups. One easy decision. Spots are still open, but they’re filling — register at the link in bio or call (727) 396-2162.

Soccer probably isn’t the most important thing your 2-year-old is learning here.
And honestly… that’s kind of the point.
At this age, we care more about confidence, movement, listening, participation, and helping kids feel comfortable trying something new.
Some kids run right onto the field.
Some need a few classes before they fully join in.
Both are completely normal.
Little Kicks was designed to be a positive first sports experience — fun, encouraging, structured, and age-appropriate for toddlers and preschoolers.
Mini Movers (2–3) is parent-and-child because sometimes kids still need you nearby while they build confidence.
Little Legends (3–4) starts introducing more independence through simple games, movement activities, and beginner soccer skills that still feel playful and fun.
No pressure.
No standing in lines for 45 minutes.
No one expecting perfection from a toddler.
Just kids learning to love movement, play, and being part of a group.

Ages 2–4

Some of you already know Mariana — she’s been with us for a while now and has become a fixture with our youngest kids. But I’ve never formally introduced her, and that’s overdue!
Mariana grew up right here in St. Pete. She started playing rec soccer at six, worked her way up to travel soccer at PCU and Strictly Soccer, now known as St. Pete FC, and played four years of varsity at Boca Ciega. Soccer wasn’t just something she did growing up — it’s genuinely part of who she is.
She started coaching youth soccer at 18 and hasn’t stopped. She’s now a full time USF student and part time soccer coach. You can count on Mariana to bring that same passion to Soccer HQ’s youngest players every week.
What I’ve noticed about Mariana is simple: little kids trust her immediately. That’s not something you can teach. For Mini Movers, Little Legends, and Rising Stars — she’s one of your main coaches!
Welcome to the spotlight, Mariana. Long overdue. 🤍⚽

Some of you have already met her on the floor over the past few weeks, but I wanted to officially introduce Coach Birdie.
Birdie played Division I soccer at the University of Georgia and later worked in professional soccer with Birmingham Legion FC and Tampa Bay Sun FC. She has experienced the game at a very high level, but what stood out to me most when I got to know her was how naturally she connects with kids.
One thing she said early on really stuck with me: she wants players to leave each session feeling like they got a little bit better than when they walked in.
That’s exactly the kind of environment we’re trying to build at Soccer HQ.
Birdie is coaching all age groups and is also available for private lessons. If you haven’t met her yet, you probably will soon.
Welcome to the team, Birdie. 🤍⚽
