Our four year old students had fun learning all about the four seasons this week. They enjoyed books about each season during circle time, learned what they see in the different seasons and even made different artwork centered around each season.

This week the Young Ones are getting into the Halloween spirit, getting geared up for next week! They got to make some Halloween gifts for their parents using their hands and paint, then they got to use green paint and a paper plate to make a spooky witch, and then they got to use their favorite coloring utensils, the dot marker to color a picture and learn how to say “Trick or Treat!” Their favorite activity this week has been feeding the ghost, they take a colored puff and put it into the top of the container to feed the ghost, it helps them work on their fine motor skills of picking up something small and putting it into a container.

The older three's classroom enjoyed participating in activities centered around the fall theme this week. Some activities that they enjoyed this week were painting fall pictures, traced letters, painted acorns, and made art for the bulletin boards. We are excited for next week's theme which is Kites.

In the VPK A classroom the students participated in activities centered around the community helpers theme this week. We talked about community helpers we see all the time but don't think about like veterinarians, librarians, cashier's, waitresses and waiters, chefs, bakers, postal workers, teachers and construction workers. We played career bingo, worked in our notebooks, did an ABC dot-to-dot, and played a community helpers guessing game. We worked on the letter N and did a newspaper on N and started on Halloween decorations for the hallway. We added items in the block area to play construction, played restaurant in housekeeping and had a vet center set up at the table. Next week we are continuing community helpers, focusing on ones who keep us safe and the letter D.

In the four year old class this week was all about rainbows and clouds!

✨ We learned that a rainbow has 7 beautiful colors and that there are lots of different kinds of clouds. The children discovered that when the rain stops and the sun peeks back out, sometimes a rainbow appears!

📖 Our stories this week were so colorful:

How the Crayons Saved the Rainbow — we made rainbow crafts by writing our names on a cloud and adding colorful stripes underneath.

Elmer and the Rainbow — we colored Elmer’s squares all different colors.

A Rainbow of My Own — we painted our very own rainbows.

Shapes in the Sky — we made fluffy cotton ball clouds, then used pipettes to drip blue water on them and watched it “rain”!

Little Cloud — we looked up at the sky on the playground and imagined all the fun shapes the clouds could be.

🎨 We practiced patterning with rainbow colors, counted clouds, and even tried a science experiment called the Walking Rainbow. The children made predictions about what might happen—and were so excited when their guesses came true!

Next week’s theme is going to be extra fun (and a little messy!)… MUD! 🪣🌧️👢

Our Infants had a very busy week this week. We touched inside pumpkins, we sponge painted, went on buggy walks, listened to Halloween songs, and read books. Next week we will talk about pumpkins and touching pumpkin seeds and doing Halloween art.

We had a ONEderful week in the one year old classrooms

This week the Young One’s started to get into the Halloween Spirit by learning all about monsters! They got to learn that monsters come in all shapes and sizes, some are scary and some are not. They got to use their fine motor skills to make monsters with forks, their hands and sponges! They also got to do some science experiments (with supervision from Ms. Leah and Ms. Kat) where they got to see monster potions being made with baking soda and vinegar and they got to see and touch monster toothpaste made of dish soap, water, hydrogen peroxide and yeast. They liked to see and feel how gooey and foamy everything was and pretending they were monsters! Their favorite book they read this week was The Monster at The End of this Book, they liked seeing Grover try and stop them from getting to the end so they wouldn’t be scared of the monster!

Also, This week the older ones explored the weather! The kids had fun painting bright suns and dark skies, and making fluffy cloud crafts with cotton balls. We sang “Rain, Rain, Go Away” together and had lots of smiles. Next week we’ll be learning all about fall. Have a wonderful weekend!
