In case any of you have some extra to give right now, the group Immigrant Solidarity Collective is raising money to stop a BSS/JFK mom's very immenent deportation. She's a single mom who has already survived so much. Her son goes to JFK and her daughter to BSS. Please spread the word if you can. The money going to this overall fund will be prioritized for her this week.

Seconds Thrift Shop is hosting a free and fun Halloween costume swap on 10/4 from 1-4 PM. This is a great way to recycle and keep Halloween affordable, all while supporting a woman-owned, local business (and fellow BSS parent!) Bring your donations to the front office of BSS until 10/2. We'll see you at Seconds on Sunday October 4th, getting costumes just in time for BSS's Halloween party/trunk-or-treat!

Keep an eye out in your kid's folder for info about the Halloween party and trunk-or-treat on 10/16. It's sure to be another great party, and we need your help to make it happen! We'll be posting links soon for volunteer sign-ups. Stay spooky, folks!
*As a reminder: this is not a drop-off event, and parents need to remain with and be in charge of their kids*

BSS has a wonderful custodian: Carol Bray, a person who does so much to provide a clean and safe environment for all of the students and teachers who work and study at BSS. Sadly, Carol’s husband is currently facing a serious health battle. School staff members have started a fundraiser to help ease some of the practical burdens during this incredibly challenging time. Please check out the GoFundMe page: https://gofund.me/1866dcd15 if you are able to help Carol and her family. Thank you for your generosity.
