But are the ghosts themselves sexy or have we simply fallen in love with a memory? Do ghosts exist or are they only representations of desire? Find out as we delve into novels and short stories by authors such as Théophile Gautier, Alexandre Dumas, and Jules Verne.

How do writing and art empower people to resist oppression? How can one’s class, gender, race, or sexuality lead to different reasons to resist and different forms of resistance? We will analyze expressions of resistance in modern films, plays, novels, and graphic novels.

This award is presented to a recognized all-university student club or organization that has been active for less than one year (NCD approval between January 2018-January 2019) and whose achievements illustrate a dedication to the campus community and toward making a difference in the lives of NYU students.
