Fordham BLSA

This November, BLSA President Taylour Peters ’27 represented our chapter at the National Black Pre-Law Conference Law Fair, held at NYU School of Law in New York City. Throughout the multi-day event, Taylour connected with undergraduate students exploring the legal field, shared her experiences as a student leader, and spoke about the community and support BLSA provides at Fordham.

We’re proud of Taylour’s dedication to uplifting future Black lawyers and representing our chapter with excellence. Thank you to for continuing to champion outreach efforts that expand access and opportunity for Black aspiring lawyers.

On October 11th, BLSA’s Vice President, Ginikachi Okeke ’27, traveled to Washington, D.C. to represent Fordham Law at Howard University’s Black Women in Pre-Law Summit. Throughout the event, Ginikachi engaged with future law students, offering advice on navigating law school and emphasizing the importance of community and representation in the legal profession.

We’re grateful to Ginikachi for showing up with passion and purpose, and for embodying the leadership that defines our BLSA chapter. Thank you as well to for continuing to invest in outreach that expands opportunities for Black students in the legal field.

On September 27th, BLSA’s Treasurer and Evening Division Chair, Lewis Folli, represented Fordham Law at the HBCU Law Fair in Atlanta. Lewis attended the National HBCU Pre-Law Fair at Georgia Tech’s Historic Academy of Medicine, where he connected with aspiring law students, shared information about Fordham Law, and spoke about his experience as an evening student.

Thank you, Lewis, for your leadership and for representing Fordham Law and BLSA with pride! We sincerely appreciate for their continued commitment to supporting and increasing the enrollment of Black attorneys in law school.

Fordham BLSA had the privilege of joining an intimate discussion with Hon. Fabiana Pierre-Louis of the New Jersey Supreme Court. As the daughter of Haitian immigrants, Justice Pierre-Louis shared her compelling journey to the bench, offering insight into her experiences, background, and motivations.

We left the conversation deeply inspired by her path and the wisdom she shared.
