Toward the end of 2025, I had the privilege of breaking bread with faith leaders across religious traditions alongside the Greenwich Fellowship of Clergy. We exchanged sermon sparks and seasonal wisdom for the year ahead. As we look forward, may we be guided by hope, conscience, and a shared focus on the light.

Night seven of Hanukkah calls for some creativity! Delicious DIY dreidels I’ve used in classrooms and youth groups are fun for a crafty quiet celebration at home. Big thanks for the gluten-free sufganiyot from By The Way Bakery
Snack-spin-repeat 😁💙
Ingredients: Marshmallow, Hershey kiss, honey, and a toothpick.

In 1974 the US held its first public menorah lighting. Featured is my local candle lighting from night one, continuing the tradition on City Island in the Bronx. Happy Hanukkah to all that celebrate!

Huge thanks to the students, faculty, and staff at Bates College for sharing the 5786 High Holidays season with me as a rabbinic leader!
Following the echoes of the shofar, I'm heading into our new year with so much inspiration, from the meaningful talks with students during Rabbi Office Hours to our stunning mountain-top Havdallah.
We wrestled with everything from ancient goat sacrifice atonement to Mark Twain's wise quip: "A clear conscience is the sure sign of a bad memory." Wishing everyone a year as sweet as apples and honey.
