During the MBK Summer Program, Ashtian Holmes led our MBK Scholars through an engaging session on managing their time and energy, using available resources, building meaningful connections, seeking mentorship, and creating opportunities instead of waiting for them.

The session reminded our scholars that their voices, decisions, and actions matter. At BMCC UMLA, we are helping students develop the confidence, community, and habits needed to succeed in college and beyond. 💙🎓

During the MBK Summer Program, Julio Vaca introduced students to the College Success Toolkit, sharing strategies to study smarter, stay organized, and succeed at BMCC.

Marc Louis also spoke about tutoring and reminded students that asking for academic support is not a weakness, it is part of becoming a stronger and more confident student.

Through UMLA and MBK, our goal is to connect students with the tools, resources, mentorship, and community they need to succeed inside and outside the classroom.
