Black Connect’s Founder shared these words during a recent meeting, and we knew they needed to be shared with the broader BC community. We all know someone who needs to hear this message. Or maybe it’s you. So we’re sharing it - unfiltered. Reclaiming What’s Within At Black Connect, we operate from the premise we are all born with an entrepreneurial instinct. It is part of the instinct to survive - to solve problems, serve others, trade skills, build relationships, and find a way. But somewhere along the way, many of us are conditioned to see our talents only through the lens of employment. We are taught to ask who will hire us before we ask what value we create. We are trained to become workers before we are taught to become builders, owners, and economic decision-makers. This Black Business Month, Black Connect is asking entrepreneurs one question: Were you born, made, or called to entrepreneurship? This month, you’ll hear from founders who knew they were born to build. You’ll hear from founders who reclaimed their entrepreneurial spirit through experience, necessity, and persistence. And you’ll hear from founders who were called by a problem they could not ignore. Their stories remind us that the entrepreneurial spirit does not disappear. It waits beneath the conditioning, the doubt, the job titles, the obligations, and the systems that taught us to doubt our ideas, underestimate our resilience, suppress our creative genius, or pour it into businesses we do not own.
