68 years of supporting families in need in East Harlem, NYC. We help families meet their most fundamental needs: food, clothing, healthcare, and a safe home.

LSA Family Health Service, founded by The Little Sisters of the Assumption in 1958, is a neighborhood-based nonprofit which delivers a holistic model of human services. Through home visits, on-site services, support groups, classes, and more, we help the most vulnerable achieve the wellness and strength they need to move forward.

LSA was chosen to launch the first Community Baby Shower by representing Manhattan. We served over 35 families, hosting an educational workshop, fun games, photo station, nutritious food, referrals to programs and maternal giveaways!

Thousands of New Yorkers submitted ideas for community projects this fall, and randomly selected residents from each borough reviewed, refined, and ultimately chose which proposals would advance to the citywide vote this spring.

Now, these projects are one step closer to becoming reality — the winning ideas will be funded through the New York City budget and implemented by community-based organizations across the city.

Sister Susanne Lachapelle left a mark in all of our hearts. It only makes sense that her name lives on as we recognize her contributions to the community in this honory co-naming of the corner of 115th Street in the heart of East Harlem. Thank you to all for coming to the unveiling! Thank you Lazaro and Alysa for photos and videos :)
