LSA was chosen to launch the first Community Baby Shower by representing Manhattan. We served over 35 families, hosting an educational workshop, fun games, photo station, nutritious food, referrals to programs and maternal giveaways!
LSA Family Health Service
68 years of supporting families in need in East Harlem, NYC. We help families meet their most fundamental needs: food, clothing, healthcare, and a safe home.
LSA Family Health Service, founded by The Little Sisters of the Assumption in 1958, is a neighborhood-based nonprofit which delivers a holistic model of human services. Through home visits, on-site services, support groups, classes, and more, we help the most vulnerable achieve the wellness and strength they need to move forward.
Today, Randall’s Island Park Alliance joined LSA’s weekly food pantry in providing a healthy cooking demonstration and a plant for our community member’s home gardens! This is what building a stronger & healthier East Harlem looks like—thank you

Thousands of New Yorkers submitted ideas for community projects this fall, and randomly selected residents from each borough reviewed, refined, and ultimately chose which proposals would advance to the citywide vote this spring.
Now, these projects are one step closer to becoming reality — the winning ideas will be funded through the New York City budget and implemented by community-based organizations across the city.
