The Jimmy Bradley '15 Memorial Foundation held a fundraising event at The Wicked Monk in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on Sunday, October 11. The foundation funds several scholarships benefiting Xavier students each year. The event raised over $20,000 for future Sons of Xavier.

Many Xavier faculty, staff, alumni, and students attended the event in support of the mission.

On September 24, Make-a-Wish New Jersey President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Weatherall ’82 was inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame, receiving the Unsung Hero Award for his 25 years of contributions to the Make-a-Wish organization.

Members of the Xavier community are invited to join us at the 9/11 Memorial & Museum on Thursday, October 29, for a screening of Grace Abounds, Xavier's documentary about the school's strength and resilience after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The screening will begin in the Museum's Auditorium at 6 p.m. Guests are invited to arrive as early as 4:30 p.m. to experience a complimentary, self-guided tour of the Museum beforehand.

For the second year in a row, Sons of Xavier are participating in Boston College's AMDG program, a work of the university’s Institute for Advanced Jesuit Studies.

Fifteen students began their year-long commitment to the program in August and together will explore their faith and commitment to service.

"The 'In The Wake Of A Mark' exhibit opening reception was crowded from the start, with a line forming as the doors opened at 6 p.m.,” said Art Teacher Billy Maloney '01.

Maloney’s art was featured in an art show this weekend. He was joined by Sons of Xavier and colleagues to celebrate the show’s opening on Thursday, October 1. The exhibit is on view until October 31.

"The space was alive and bumping throughout the night with art enthusiasts, Xavier students, parents, faculty and staff, and the artists themselves. It was great to see our AP Art students asking questions about technique and interacting with the featured artists. It was also a highlight to have both Mrs. Iacovone and Fr. Mike Tunney S.J. there, my high school and college art teachers respectively in attendance. Overall, it was a memorable night for me personally. It felt tremendous to share my art with others and I was honored to be selected to be one of the twelve artists chosen for this powerful group show."

At Wednesday’s lively, festive President’s Dinner—a celebration of leadership, generosity, and community—Jack Raslowsky, Xavier’s 33rd President, addressed the crowd. Surrounded by Sons of Xavier, loyal donors, faculty and administrators, Jesuits, and other partners in the work at the New York Athletic Club, Raslowsky expressed his gratitude for Xavier and recognized those who helped make the success of the school possible.
