We are thrilled to share our new website with the Xavier community!

The digital overhaul was a deeply collaborative initiative led by Xavier's communications and marketing team. While creating the new site, the team consistently returned to a line in Xavier's brand positioning: "A Xavier education is rooted and relevant, timeless and urgent."

This line echoes St. Augustine’s reference to God as “ever ancient, ever new," and we aimed to showcase that same idea in our storytelling. Xavier is 179 years old with extraordinarily modern facilities and programs. We focus on tradition as well as innovation. And our mission to send forth young men to transform the world for God's greater glory remains constant--something we hope jumps off every page.

We hope you enjoy the site!

On September 11, 2001, Xavier lost 10 of her Sons and dozens of parents, spouses, children, siblings, other relatives, and friends in the attacks at the World Trade Center.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to remember—in print, through art, in liturgy. We are proud to share a special edition of Xavier Magazine today, the first of many ways we will celebrate the lives of those lost and the strength of this community in the coming weeks.

May the souls of all lost on September 11 rest in God’s peace.

“‘Never Forget’ is no slogan to the Dowdells. … Living without Kevin is a form of bravery, of course—a fire all its own. Living his example is how they find their way out of the smoke.”

Sally Jenkins’ beautiful profile in The Atlantic highlights the enduring influence of Kevin Dowdell P’01 ’02 on his sons, Patrick Dowdell ’01 and James Dowdell ’02, 25 years after his death on September 11, 2001.

Sons of Xavier spent last week partnering with Re-Member to serve the Oglala Lakota people of the Pine Ridge Reservation.

In this CFX Pine Ridge I trip, the students participated in skirting trailers, building ramps, digging outhouses, constructing, delivering bunk beds, gardening, and learning about the history and culture of the place and its people.
