NYSID ASID Student Chapter The New York School of Interior Design ASID Student Chapter, a student run organization/club.

The American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is a professional organization within the interior design profession. The New York School of Interior Design has it's own ASID Student Chapter, a student run organization/club, that focuses on creating networking opportunities for NYSID students to interact and meet design professionals. We arrange off-campus student trips and tours, information panels, on-campus seminars and lectures, charity/volunteer opportunites, and other networking events that allow students to emerge themselves in the professional world before they graduate. As a student member, one would have access to:
• Leadership opportunities and training
• “Student ASID” appellation
• Career tools, job banks and job fairs
• RealWorld DesignWeek national job shadowing program
• Scholarships
• Awards and competitions
• Networking opportunities

Meet the Panelists!

Last, but certainly not least, we are so excited to have Lindsay Stephen joining us TONIGHT for the Interior Design in Entertainment panel.

Lindsay is originally from Colorado but now lives and works here in NYC. She has worn several hats in the film industry including Set Decorator, Buyer, and Prop Stylist.

We’ll find out more about Lindsay’s career path and creative process TONIGHT!

Meet the Panelists!

We cannot wait to speak with Dayna D’Eletto tomorrow at the Interior Design in Entertainment panel!

Dayna’s interest in set design started with a love of architecture and period design. Her artistic abilities brought her to earn a BFA in Interior Design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. After a short career as an Interior Designer, Dayna decided to return to her studies where she later received her MFA in Scenic Design from SUNY Purchase/ Conservatory of Theater Arts.

Her projects include:
- The Drew Barrymore Show
- Orange is the New Black
- Mr. Robot
- Project Runway Allstars

Meet the Panelists!

We are ecstatic to annoying Ellen Christiansen will be joining us this Friday, November 4th for the Interior Design in Entertainment panel!

Ellen graduated from Tufts University where she was involved with the theatre department. She was inspired by the collaboration between sets and costumes for the shows. After graduating she spent a few years as a prop and set decorator before enrolling in NYSID’s certificate program to gain the practical skills she needed to elevate her career.

Her projects include:

- Across the Universe
- Music and Lyrics
- Doubt
- You’ve Got Mail

Lydia’s 20 years of experience with decoration and design began with a passion for documentary photography. Critiques in art school made her aware of the power of interiors to tell a story.
