I have been a teacher for 8+ years. I have been an Assistant Director for Education, Pre K teacher and Pre K Special Education.
My heart is truly in PRE Kβ₯ I enjoy creating my own classroom materials and am so excited to share them with you!!
Hi! Sorry I have been a little MIA, but I have been getting back to school (remote for now) and WOW - it has been quite an adjustment! Feeling a little bit like a new teacher and SO tired, but yet so excited to meet my little babies!
If you are like me, you are totally creating new items for your classroom OR buying ALL the things from TPT! Luckily, there is a TPT sale on September 15th to get everything you need for the beginning of the school year - hybrid, virtual, or in person! Check out my store to find some great deals!

Double tap to LIKE if you are feeling all the emotions heading Back to School - happy, sad, EXHAUSTED (teacher tired is a real thing and on a whole new level this year!) anxious, etc. Just know I am feeling just like you are too and it's ok - we will get through it! β€οΈ

Love this graphic by The Childhood Collective I know this one is particularly for parents, but I think it holds true for teachers as well, in our distance learning/hybrid/face to face teaching situations for the new school year.
I feel a little bit like a brand new teacher again this year, but I do know we can figure this whole thing out TOGETHER! It won't be perfect, it may not be easy, but with a little patience, a little grace, and A LOT of hard work, teachers and parents will do whatever is necessary to help students learn and thrive!
Which one of these mantras stands out to you? I think for me it might be "we don't need all the answers to get started." Sometimes it's hard to move ahead when things seem so uncertain, but it's ok to start, it's ok to figure it out as you go, and it's ok to make changes as needed. We've got this!
One of the things I have missed the most is wandering the aisles of my favorite stores, like Target! π I lucked out finding this treasure box and just knew I had to buy it for my new babies coming in September!
Where is your favorite place to shop for classroom items?

Space in the classroom is a luxury that many of us don't have! We all dream of those big, bright classrooms with tons of usable wall space and lots of corners and tables where kids can work in groups or independently. However, that isn't usually the reality in our schools.
I wasn't ready to give up a word wall in my classroom just because I didn't have the huge space to put one so I made my own portable Word Wall! π Totally easy and inexpensive to make - just a tri fold display board and library pockets and I can take my word wall anywhere I need! It's such a huge space saver, as well as giving the students the opportunity to actually interact with the words as needed.
A portable word wall is perfect for distance learning teachers to have at home and for our new homeschooling parents to create!
Do you use a word wall in your classroom? Any other space saving hacks or tips?
I created these monthly calendars to be student friendly and educational. The calendars allow students to practice number tracing and writing, as well as all basic calendar skills. There are 3 different levels included to meet your students' needs and can be printed in color or black and white. Once you purchase this set, you receive the updated version each year for FREE!

We do so much more with our students than academics! Hopefully, social emotional learning gets all the focus it deserves this year!
Please check out Pathway 2 Success. She has so many great resources, especially on this topic.
When your kids leave your classroom at the end of the year, what is one non academic thing you hope they have learned or gained?
Our kids are coming to school with bigger emotions than ever before. π π’ π π¦ π In my classroom, as a Pre-K special education teacher, I created a calm down corner, a place where my students could safely work through their emotions with the assistance of posters, strategies, and interactive sensory activities (all with the support of a trusted adult at first).
I shared some of what I do with my students in my Calm Down Strategies product. These strategies can be used at home π‘ for homeschooling parents, for virtual learning π» as a link between parents and teachers, or in the classroom π« itself. Focusing on the whole child and social emotional health has to be a priority every year, but especially this one! β€οΈ

How do you help your students or children learn to regulate their emotions and cope with BIG feelings? Any techniques or strategies you have found beneficial? I would love to hear some ideas from parents and teachers of older kids too!
Sharing some of my favorite Back to School Books! The great thing about reading is we can do it anywhere - in the classroom or over the computer in a Zoom meeting!
What is one of your favorite books to read during the first days of the school year?
