Full Moon in Virgo- Sat, Feb 24th at 7:30 AM (EST)

Today and tonight is the Full Moon in Virgo, which puts it just opposite the Sun in Pisces. What a sensitive moon it is! We feel more intently during the full moon because we, just like our blue planet, are mostly water! The Moon rules, and pulls, not just the tides of the earth and sea, but in our body as well.

As the Sun is the great masculine planet, the Moon is the great feminine planet, and women are especially sensitive to its influence. Many women menstruate at the time of the full Moon, and it’s amazing how many babies are born. The “tides” of the Moon are the tides of emotion, the stream of intuition, and the psychic pull of that vast ocean within us, known as the Collective Unconscious. It is this aspect of us that allows messages and dreams to be received from the depths of the Self.

The Moon passes through all 12 signs of the zodiac in every monthly cycle. When the Moon is directly opposite the Sun, it receives the full force of the Sun's light and appears in its Full Moon glory.

This full Moon in the sign of Virgo is a wonderful balance to the Sun's placement in the mystical, and super sensitive, Pisces. Virgo is an earth sign, and she is grounded, practical, hard working and healing. Her Key phrase is: 'I Analyze'. With this Full Moon al parts of our mind are stimulated. Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury, the planet of the Conscious mind. Pisces is the sign that represents the bridge between the Sub-Conscious and the Super-Conscious, transcendent mind. This bridge gives us an opportunity to be inspired from higher sources, and to make practical and logical use of our intuitions and inspirations, and to manifest them in our lives.

Virgo is the sign of the Divine Feminine in the zodiac. She represents both young Persephone and her mother Demeter - pesonifing both Virgin and fully mature Goddess. Together they were worshiped for over 2,000 years at the Eleusinian Mysteries in Greece. Virgo is Mother Nature and a healer, feeding the world, making it fruitful, and ministering to its woes. She is known for her critical discernment and analysis. She knows how to fix things, and today we can have insights about our well-being.

All of us who walk the healing path can be guided and inspired. Virgo rules health, hygiene, daily work, and joy in giving service. We can be inspired in ways we can serve others. We can also improve our own work and working conditions. All of us who need healing can tune in to our inner wisdom today and listen for guidance about practical ways to heal ourselves.

In the Tarot, Virgo is assigned to the card of the Hermit, one of the most important cards in the deck. The Hermit is the Fool, the Holy Innocent, returned to the mountaintop, after a cycle of experience, now ready to guide and assist others. In our personal experience the Hermit’s guidance can come in the form of the Inner Teacher, or Voice of Wisdom. This Full Moon is a wonderful time to turn within, to listen within, for our teacher. We may have more than one. Many believe that we have an Inner School.

Here are some suggestions for connecting to your Inner Guidance:

Sit quietly in a place you will not be disturbed. Use any meditation technique that you are familiar with, and that pleases you, to center and become still.

If you do not know how to meditate, then use a simple technique of spending a few minutes giving complete attention to watching your breath, riding the waves of your own breathing, not forcing , just noticing, and letting your breath breathe you.

To help you, you might like to gaze at the Tarot card of the Hermit or The High Priestess, both of which are powerful archetypes of inner teachers. Images are a powerful way to influence our sub-conscious mind. If your mind wanders, it’s no big deal, just bring it back. Even if you need to refocus many times in a short meditation, never be impatient with yourself. In this way, we have an opportunity to cultivate an inner loving relationship.

Close your eyes and imagine you are in a safe and sacred space. Imagination is our greatest treasure! See your Inner Teacher in your mind’s eye, just as your own inner mind would like to see them appear. They will not necessarily appear like the Hermit or High Priestess! Notice how willing they are to be with you. See the love in their eyes, for there are no judgments here, only love and acceptance.

You can bring them any questions about your life and your path. You may ask for assistance and guidance with any spiritual concern or life decision. Perhaps you will ‘feel’ this connection rather than see it as a vision, or you may hear it as a voice centered in your heart. Each of us receives in our own unique way. Be receptive and listen. You can return to this space and connect to your Inner Teacher anytime you wish. This being is called by many names, one of which is the Higher Self.

May your inner quest be blessed.

The Lupercalia = The Sexy Roots of Valentine’s Day

Valentines is a much older holiday than one might think. All of February is devoted to love and s*x. February comes from the Latin febris, or fever. At this time of year, the specific fever was the fever of love. The entire month was dedicated and named for the goddess Juno, in her s*xual mode, Juno Februata. What better way to spend a cold February night? Of course, this all comes back to Nature.
This is the time of year, in the northern hemisphere that the balance of light shifts, and all of Nature responds. The animals go into heat to prepare for the young that will be born in the spring, and the sap begins to rise in the trees!
Especially important to the Romans was the “Lupercalia”, a holiday celebrated mid-February. The Lupercalia was named for Lupa, the she-wolf that suckled Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome. The heat period of the wolves became an occasion for three days of s*xual licentiousness and freedom. All rules and bets were off.

When the church came into power they tried to tame the holiday by introducing a mythical saint, both martyred and pure, but the original love gods and goddesses, Venus, Aphrodite, Eros, Cupid and Pan still rule. If you are fortunate to have a loving partner to warm this winter night, then may your union be blessed.

With or without a partner, in both Ta**ra and Alchemy, the ultimate mystical marriage takes place within the self. May we each experience this Holy Union within, this unification of self, considered an enlightenment. Why not marry yourself, your Soul, your Anima or Animus, and thus you are marrying the Divine. As the wise have said: You are the one you’ve been waiting for.

May all see through the eyes of love, may we love one another, not just romantically, but to experience love in all its forms: friendship, family, community, love and care of our mother earth, our country, and the love and care of our own body and soul. In 400BC, the wise Sophocles said: “One word frees us of all the weight and pain of life: that word is Love.”

Dear Facebook Friends, I've decided to lower the rent for the winter sublet of my Woodstock apartment to $1,000 per month. The person who was intending to sublet has a cat, and my landlord says No Pets!
So, I know this is short notice, but... Hey, you never know. Perhaps this will be a blessing for someone!
I will be away for 4 months beginning in mid December 2023. The exact return date has not yet been set and can be discussed. I hope to return by mid April.
I want to sublet my large, gracious, Woodstock apartment during that time. It is quite lovely here in winter.

This apartment has two sunny bedrooms, and a very large living room. The main bedroom has a double bed, is quite large and airy with high ceilings. The smaller bedroom is not small and can happily be used as a guest room (there is one twin bed there) or as an art or writing room. There is a good desk in the second bedroom. The primary desk is located by a large window in the living room.
This building is an old historic rooming house about 1 mile up from the Woodstock village green.
Every room has tall ceilings with wooden beams.
There are lots of good books, including a fine esoteric collection.
The apartment is pleasantly furnished.
The kitchen and bathroom each have a big window.
Some wonderful, unusual, and creative people live in this 6 unit building.
You would have some very good neighbors.
People tell me all the time that this space feels more like a house than an apartment. It is on the ground floor, and you enter directly from my long, large porch. The porch is approximately 60 feet long, and there are chaise lounges and large wicker armchairs on it.
When sitting at the living room desk, you look out the window you see trees and birds, which come to feed, all day long, off the railing of my porch, where I scatter seeds. Cardinals, blue jays, chickadees, etc. All winter long.
I love living here.
I am on Meads Mountain Rd, which has only a small amount of traffic. The road is kept remarkably clean and plowed if there is snow. This is one of the first roads that gets done. Likely because the road I live on leads up to the Tibetan Monastery at the top of the mountain. My house is about ¼ of the way up the mountain, and it is not steep, but on a gentle, upwards slant. The house is completely level.
A car is a necessity.
There is no washer and dryer but there is a good laundry service in town, and you can either do your own or have it done for you. I am very pleased with their work and you can request, organic, fragrance free, 7th Generation products.
The rent for the apartment that I pay is $1600 per month- plus the cost of the electric heat. But I will not charge the price I pay to my sublet tenant.
If you keep the apartment warm and toasty like I do, the total will be closer to $1200 per month, including utilities.
Each room has its own thermostat, so you can adjust the heat to your taste.
The apartment is fully furnished but I would clear out closet and dresser drawers for you.
Unfortunately, my landlord says no pets. He would prefer one person occupancy, although an occasional guest or child staying over is fine.
If you would like to view the apartment, we can easily arrange that. References and a deposit are required. The deposit can be used towards the last month's rent.
Please let any friends who are responsible people know about this.
Please feel free to message me with any questions.
Love,
Ellen

Today! New Moon in Pisces, Feb 20, 2023
Believe in Your Dream

New Moons represent new beginnings. Each month when the Sun and the Moon align in the same sign of the Zodiac there is a special harmony between Spirit, represented by the Sun, and Soul, represented by the Moon. Carl Jung, the psychologist who introduced us to the concept of the Collective Unconscious, said: All miracles, magic and parapsychological happenings have one thing in common-an attitude of hopeful expectancy.
This positive expectancy is natural to Pisces, whose motto is “I Believe”.

This New Moon presents us with a unique opportunity as Pisces is the most sensitive, deep, mystic, psychic, and compassionate sign of the zodiac. New Moons show us the best of a sign because the great luminaries, the Sun and Moon, are conjunct, and therefore combine energies to send out the vibratory heart of Pisces into the world.

All New Moons are times of hope, and a new moon in Pisces is a thing of great spirituality and beauty.
Pisces, the Fish, swims in the deep ocean of the collective unconscious, that subterranean layer of consciousness that unites us all. Our personal consciousness is like a small inlet or bay off this great sea of consciousness. Deep inside we are connected to it. Today is all about connection and receptivity. Take time to tune in. Sit still. Meditate. If you listen for the ‘Voice of the Heart’ you can be guided. This voice will sound much like your normal ‘thinking’ voice, but perhaps more resonant. Intuitions and psychic messages may come to you today or tonight or tomorrow- while awake or in your dreams. The moon will be in Pisces until Wednesday afternoon. Keep pen and paper near-by to capture the fleeting appearance of significant thoughts. Take time to sit quietly.

As the last of the twelve signs of the zodiac, Pisces represents the ultimate attainment in consciousness, where our individual consciousness blends with the Universal Divine Mind. Pisceans often have a hard time living in the physical world, as they have one foot in another. One of their spiritual tasks is to show the rest of us the existence of other planes of being. The quality of compassion is natural to Pisces. Compassion often evolves naturally when we tune in to the Collective Heart and Soul of mankind and experience our oneness with all beings.

Many of us will need to take good care of our emotions today. Pisces is about the most sensitive sign of the Zodiac. If the world seems like too much today, consider it an invitation to turn inwards. Have compassion for yourself and allow yourself to feel the love flow. This love is coming from the mystic heart of the Universe directly to your own heart and soul. Time spent alone is very valuable.

Do you have any unanswered questions about your life? Are you wondering about your next step, or which path to choose? Pisces rules the feet, and in astrology and tarot those feet are for walking the path to higher consciousness. The major arcana Tarot card, The Moon, is ruled by Pisces, and shows us a golden path, usually rising form a pool and heading, in an undulating manner, towards the Mountains of Attainment. Don’t be deceived by the highs and lows, we are advised to simply keep our sights on our goal.

Are you aching to go deeper in your creativity? Would you like to start fresh on your spiritual or mystic journey? This is the moment to do it, so seize it. The Voice of the Heart (aka: the Higher Self, and The Being with a Thousand Names) may speak to you and tell you what you want to know. This is a perfect day to write in your journal or start one. You might also do the I Ching, or Tarot cards or Rune Stones.

Today is the perfect time to send love and healing to all who need it, as the psychic power of this day and night will carry the vibrations through the deep channels of the psychic sea. But especially, have compassion for yourself. Write yourself a love note, or a love-song, from your Higher Self. The words will be inspired and true.

A wise mystic once said: “I wanted to go on a great journey, and so I sat still for three days, and God came to me.”

with Love,

Full Moon of Friendship tonight, Thursday, August 11, 2022

This evening, at 9:36 PM, (EDT) the moon will be full in the sign of Aquarius, the most visionary, prophetic, and unconventional sign of the Zodiac.
To shine in its full glory, the moon must be exactly opposite the sun. How the Sun loves Leo! It is the sign of its rulership. Moon in Aquarius and Sun in Leo are an unusual juxtaposition. Leo is hot and passionate and rules the heart; Aquarius is cool and detached and is aligned with the mind.

Not only is Leo ruled by the Sun, many, including most Leos, consider Leo to be the King of the entire Zodiac.
After all, the sun is the center of our solar system. An August full moon night is perfect for romantic Leo, who luxuriates in expressing warmth, emotion, vitality, and deep, romantic feelings.

The moon, on the other hand, is not so comfortable in Aquarius.

Aquarius is a clear, crisp, electric, and intellectual Air sign. Sign of evolving higher consciousness, it is often considered to be a meditative and detached observer. Aquarius is the sign of Friendship and cares for the good of all humanity.
Many times, Aquarians prefer unconventional relationships, and friendship, to sticky emotional ties. Aquarians make wonderful friends and humanitarians! However, people with Aquarian moons can drive their loved ones crazy with their detached attitudes!

We might consider this moon the Friendship Moon, rather than a romantic moon. For although Leo rules the heart, and is one of the most romantic signs of the zodiac, Aquarius is a powerful intellectual sign, and tonight it is intensified by the proximity of Saturn, just 3 degrees away from the moon. Although Saturn conjunct the Moon intensifies the need to feel needed and valued, it also intensifies feelings of isolation and dejection. This is a day to make a special effort to reach out to those we care for.

While the Moon is in Aquarius, it is a wonderful time to tell your friends you love them, and to open your heart to humanity and our beautiful broken world. How satisfying to do some act, great or small, on behalf of mankind.

In these difficult times, connecting to our friends and doing what we can to help make life better for one another,
makes all the difference. Friendship makes life sweet and worth living. This includes
unconditional friendship towards ourselves. This is perhaps the best gift we can ever give or receive.

As the Fixed Air sign, Aquarius represents the part of the mind which is unchanging.
That is not our everyday chatterbox mind, which can change from moment to moment, it is far more subtle.
Aquarius is the Higher Mind and connects to the Higher Self.

The unchanging part of us is the eternal Self that is always present at the center of our being. This Self is called by many names.
Indeed, it is sometimes called “The Being with a Thousand Names”.
Some of them are: The Higher Self, the Observing Self, the Central Self, and one that seems especially relevant today:
The Inner Friend.

Although contact with this aspect of ourselves is available to everyone, to be in-touch requires that we slow down, tune in, and listen.
This part of us does not speak with a megaphone. Rather, it is referred to as ‘the still small voice’, or The Voice of the Heart, and is best heard when we become quiet and still.
Today and tonight is a wonderful time to sit in mediation, as this practice is ruled by Aquarius!

If you have a Tarot deck, the potent image of The Star can assist you. The sign of Aquarius is associated with the The Star.
Everything in that card suggests harmony and peace and it’s symbols speak directly to the subconscious mind.
The Star is considered the card of Meditation. Just gazing at the image for 5 or 10 minutes can produce an extraordinary meditation experience.
All this is to enable direct natural contact with truth. Your truth.

You might want to ask within for guidance about your unique path in life.
Use your favorite meditation technique to become centered and still.
If you do not know how to meditate, then use a simple technique of spending a few minutes giving complete attention to watching your breath, just riding the waves of your own breathing, not forcing, and letting your breath breathe you.
To assist you, as you watch your breathing, you might like to gaze at the Tarot card of The Star. This card is a powerful stimulator of revelation from within. Invite your Inner Self, your Inner Friend, to be present with you.

If your mind wanders, don't make a big deal of it, just gently bring it back. Never be impatient with yourself.
Each time we bring ourselves back to center, it gives us an opportunity to cultivate a more loving friendship with ourselves!

If it appeals to you, you can use your imagination to see/imagine your Inner Teacher. You do this with your ‘mind’s eye’.
Your teacher can look just as your own mind would like them to appear. We often have more than one! Allow the image to form. How you see them may surprise you.

More important than how they appear, is to notice how willing they are to be with you. See the love in their eyes, for there are no judgments, only love and acceptance.
You can bring any question to this part of yourself. Perhaps you’d like to know something about your life, your purpose, or your path. Ask how you can be a better friend to yourself.

Because we are each unique, perhaps you will ‘feel’ this connection rather than ‘see it’ as a vision, or you may hear it as a voice centered in your heart.
Each of us receives in our own way.

May your inner path be blessed

July 28th, New Moon in Leo, A Time for New Beginnings

Every new moon is a unique experience, and a unique opportunity for growth. Each month, for a short time, the sun and moon are conjunct in the same degree of same sign of the Zodiac. Today’s new moon takes place in the sign of Leo, the sign that rules the heart, both physically and metaphorically. The heart is our core, our vitality, it keeps body and soul vital and alive. The sun also rules the spine, and the kundalini energy that runs up it, the life force itself.

Now we are in the heart of the summer, and the astrological sign at the center of each season is called a ‘fixed’ sign. Fixed signs embody the heart or essence of that season. Summer’s fixed sign is Leo, representing the essence of the fullness of life, when the sun shines forth in all its strength and glory.

Leo’s key phrase is “I Will", and Leo’s will is strong! So strong that in the Tarot’s Major Arcana, Leo rules the card Strength. In this card we see the Higher Self, pictured as the feminine, purified subconscious, lovingly taming the wild desire nature of the self-consious mind, the Lion. Today’s combination of the Sun and Moon in Leo can augment our Strength to do that for ourselves. We can achieve that which we most desire, and do what we Will.

All new moons are a time for new beginnings and new undertakings. The sun and moon are the two most important luminaries in the sky. The sun, our celestial Father, represents Spirit, and our most essential self. The moon, our celestial Mother represents our Soul, and our intuition, deepest longings, and feelings. The combination of these two forces conjunct in same sign adds force to everything ruled by that sign.

Leo, King of Beasts, is often considered the ruler of the Zodiac. It is the sign of dominion, not just dominion over others, but more importantly, over oneself. The Higher Self attains rulership over the smaller self, the ego and personality.

Today and tonight is a perfect moment to make a connection to the Voice of the Heart, where your Spiritual Self, or Higher Self, can speak to you. By sitting still, listening within, and inviting your Higher Self to speak, you can allow the words you need to hear to come forth from your heart. Quite likely you can receive meaningful guidance.

To encourage this, you might like to close your eyes and imagine you are in a safe and sacred space. Imagination is our greatest treasure! See your Higher Self in your mind’s eye, just as your own inner mind would like to see them appear. Notice how willing they are to be with you. See the love in their eyes, for there are no judgments here, only love and acceptance.

You can bring them any questions about your life and your path. You may ask for assistance and guidance with any spiritual concern or life decision. Perhaps you will ‘feel’ this connection rather than ‘see it’ as a vision, or you may hear it as the Voice of the Heart. Each of us receives in our own unique way. Go within with a sense of curiosity, there are treasures waiting within.

May your inner quest be blessed,

Full Moon in Capricorn: The Hermit’s Moon

Today, July 13, 2022, at (2:38 pm, EST) the Full Moon in Capricorn reaches its peak of perfection.

Capricorn is not considered the finest placement for the Moon, in fact, in astrology it is called its ‘detriment’, as it is an introverted sign, which is often solitary and has difficulty expressing feelings- and feeling is what the moon is all about.

But Capricorn is deep, and strongly motivated towards its goals. At its finest, there is an excellent sense of humor and an insatiable yearning for wisdom.

This year the Capricorn full moon is augmented by its proximity to the planet Pluto, just 6 degrees away. Pluto is the planet of transformation, death and rebirth, and the search for meaning, power and magic. Pluto was the god of the underworld and in psychological terms this is our own unconscious.

This is a wonderful moon to be solitary, to withdraw from outer events and find union within - to our own Inner Self. By sitting in quietly and listening within, it is possible to gain clarity about our path in life.

Shamans and spiritual Seekers the world over, go to places of solitude to meet the spirit guides that will teach them. In the Gnostic Gospels the original use of the word ‘solitary’ can be translated as ‘unified’. The word ‘Alone’ can also be thought of as “all-one”.

Today and tonight is a wonderful time to spend time in meditation, to allow parts of our psyche, ones we do not usually tune into, to speak to us. Our need for extroversion and introversion is as natural to us as inhalation and exhalation.

Use the power of this full moon, of Capricorn and Pluto, to find the light within, to hear the voice of our Inner Wisdom, often called The Voice of the Heart. The Oneness and the illumination, are waiting and shining and beckoning.

Can You Feel It?

Tonight is a very special New Moon, as the Sun, our Celestial Father and Moon, our Celestial Mother, are conjunct in the Moon’s own sign of Cancer.

It is a mystical marriage that occurs at each new moon, and allows us to connect with our heart (the Sun) and soul (the Moon). Although we will not see our beautiful Queen of the Night in the sky tonight, we can feel her.

Considered the most receptive sign of the Zodiac, Cancer’s key phrase is “I feel”. She is the very essence of the Moon.
Both Cancer and the Moon are associated with deep feelings, intuition, mothering, nurturing, protectiveness, longing, and sensitivity to surrounding influences and vibrations.

It’s lucky that crab has a strong outer shell, because its inside is very tender, sweet and sensitive. Cancer’s receptivity extends in many directions. It’s own emotions are strong, and they feel the feelings of others as well. Of all the signs in the zodiac, Cancer has the most direct connection to both the personal and the collective unconscious.

Tonight is a night for Feeling and Intuition on many levels. A perfect night for divination, Tarot, I Ching, Rune Stones, dreams, telepathy, and discovering our inner truth. Everything is doubly or triply enhanced this New Moon as it is making an exact 90 degrees square to Jupiter, the planet of good fortune, the spiritual quest, and extravagance! Jupiter tells us to go for, or quest for, what we want most.

We all follow cosmic cycles, far more than we are consciously aware. If we take time to tune in and pay attention to the Moon’s cycle, we can take advantage of it. It’s like catching a wave, and we can catch the vibration and the energy it brings. Tonight, is an excellent time to sit quietly and consciously invoke the enhancement of your own intuition and receptivity. It is a precious moment for understanding what you are really feeling in relation to any situation in your life or any relationship that is important to you. Including your relationship with yourself.

Although the moment of the exact meeting of the Sun and Moon is brief, the combining of the energies of these two great luminaries is powerful and the effect lasts for many days.
The new moon is a rebirth for the moon and marks the beginning of a new lunar cycle.

We are a microcosm of the great macrocosm, and just as the moon pulls the tides of the body (so many babies are born on the new and full moons!) this moment offers each of us the power to claim and experience a re-birth as well. We can begin a new cycle of experience.

The energy to start anew can be applied to anything we are yearning for, but it will be especially powerful when applied to an aspect of life ruled by Cancer. For example, your receptivity can be enhanced, and your intuition. Why not also use this time to commit to mothering yourself, and to taking better care of you, as your own most precious child.

In Buddhism, there is a spiritual practice called Maitri which is at heart an unconditional compassion and friendliness for all living beings. It is a way of practicing loving kindness for others, but also for ourselves.

Pema Chodron writes about Maitri in her wonderful book, When Things Fall Apart, “practicing loving kindness towards ourselves, seems as good a way as any to start illuminating the darkness of difficult times.”

Cancer’s soulful and nurturing impulse is a wonderful way to begin this spiritual practice of unconditional friendliness that helps to heal ourselves and our world.

Sending love and New Moon blessings to all,
Ellen Goldberg

Could Friday the 13th be Your Lucky Day?

Have you ever felt that good things happen to you on Friday the 13th? It is a fantastically feminine day, as it combines the sacred number 13 with Friday, the day named after Freya, the Norse Venus. Freya is goddess of love, s*xuality, fertility, magic, divination and death.
She is considered the patron and protector of the human race, and especially of women who attain wisdom, status, and power, as Freya rose from being an ordinary woman to become the chief of the Valkyries and then evolved further to become a Norn. Norns are the Great Goddesses who weave the fates and histories of people and of nations.

The number 13 is an especially feminine number, as there are 13 Lunar cycles in a year and 13 menstrual cycles. The old lunar calendar regarded the 13th month as the month of both death and renewal. Without continual change life cannot exist.
Those who love the Tarot know #13 to be the number of the Death card, which could just as easily be called ‘Life’, as one of its primary associations is change and transformation. Life and Death depend on one another.

The Hebrew science of numbers and words, Gematria, assigns a number to every letter of the alphabet. Words with identical numerical values are related both to the number itself and to one another. Thirteen is the number of two very important Hebrew words: Achad, meaning unity (as in Adonai Achad- God is ONE) and Ahevah, meaning Love.

Historian Barbara Walker tells us: “Christian monks called the day of the Goddess Freya unlucky because everything associated with female divinity was so called. Friday the 13th was said to be especially unlucky because it combined the Goddess’s sacred day with her sacred number.”

Celebrate your divine feminine today! Wear some gold or amber, as Freya’ tears were said to be made of these. Eat some fish, sacred totem of Aphrodite (her name means born of the Sea Foam). The church may have adapted the custom, but fish were originally, and still are, considered an aphrodisiac food.

Today is a day to claim your feminine power! Perhaps you might practice some divination and natural magic. Why not draw a Rune Stone today, or do some Tarot or throw the I Ching? Freya taught the great Odin magic, in return for knowledge of the Runes. They are a part of her now.

In most Romance languages, the word for Friday derives from dies Veneris, which in Latin means “day of Venus.” For example, in Romanian Friday is Vineri, and in French it is Vendredi, in Italian Venerdì. So, today is a love holiday, and you know what to do.
