October 7 is a day we will carry with us forever.
Three years ago today, the Jewish people suffered the worst massacre since the Holocaust. Families were murdered in their homes. Young people were hunted at a music festival. Men, women and children were dragged into Gaza as hostages.
October 7 was an attempt to make Jews afraid again—to convince us that nowhere is safe, that Jewish sovereignty is temporary, and that eventually our enemies can break our will.
They cannot.
For 2,000 years, Jews knew what it meant to live at the mercy of others. Zionism was our answer. Israel is our answer. The Jewish people have returned to our ancestral homeland, rebuilt our sovereignty, and reclaimed the ability to defend ourselves. We will never apologize for that—and we will never surrender it.
But October 7 also exposed a larger battle. The same radical Islamist ideology that celebrates the murder of Jews is accompanied by a propaganda war that seeks to turn victim into aggressor, terrorism into “resistance,” and hatred of Israel into something fashionable and righteous. Increasingly, that propaganda is directed not only against Israel, but against America and the values of the free world.
That battle must be fought too.
At Hasbara Fellowships, we fight it where the next generation is being shaped: on our campuses, online, and in the public square. We are building young leaders who will not be intimidated into silence, who will challenge lies with truth, and who will stand unapologetically for Israel, America and the Jewish people.
Today we mourn those we lost. We honor the heroes who fought back. And we remember that Jewish history did not end on October 7.
We are still here. We are still fighting. And the next generation of Zionists is ready to carry the fight forward.
