Interactive Performance

Interactive Performance A unique dance class that focuses on technique and performance quality through orginally choreographed duets by Kristine Covillo and Adam Ray Dyer

Kristine and Adam love to motivate and encourage dancers to grow physically and artistically each class. From their broad experience of dancing professionally on Broadway, in Concert Dance Companies, Cirque Productions and in TV and Film, they have realized that there is more to performance than just movement. Truly performing involves telling a story, and creating a world with the people around you through dance. This class involves learning interactive duets each week that get dancers out of the mirror and encourages them to interact with a partner. Class starts with a technical warm-up, employing elements of Ballet, Horton, Graham, Yoga, Pilates and Jazz. Following, will be a few progressions across the floor using technical movements found in the upcoming choreography. Choreography is stylistically different every two weeks, ranging from Contemporary, Jazz, Modern and Musical Theatre. Kristine and Adam will teach a two-part combo that will be combined to create an interactive duet. Movement is taught slowly and thoroughly and time will be given to digest the material. Through working together dancers develop a sense of camaraderie, joy and freedom of movement. Students learn to really PERFORM!
