Brooklyn Acting Lab’s mission is to create innovative theatrical works that reflect our diverse global community and to nurture talent by providing comprehensive arts training for children and adults. BAL partners with schools and community-based organizations to provide arts-in-education programming, performances, and events, collaborating across the performing arts in order to exchange work and ideas with artists nationally and internationally

No professional experience required and all gender identities are encouraged to submit. Submissions are due by September 18th, 2026. Dolly is a legend! As a little girl I sang and danced to her music. 9 to 5 was of course a favorite. What an incredible storyteller and generous human! So authentic. Back in 2014 BAL players created an office-themed play and sang 9 to 5.

A Midsummer Night’s Musical invites young artists into an enchanted forest filled with fairies, mistaken identities, and magical surprises! 🎭🌙

Inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, this creative musical theater experience gives students the chance to explore character, music, movement, and storytelling as they work together to create an original performance.

A week of imagination, collaboration, confidence-building, and a little bit of summer magic awaits! ✨
