Sexuality, Women, and Gender Project Drs. SWG was honored to join neighboring organizations advancing the knowledge-base and academic production of these topics on the Columbia University campus.

Founded in 2012, the S*xuality, Women, and Gender Project (SWG) was created to envision and implement the next wave of theories and practices to improve well-being in persons at the intersection of the above identities and social locations. Aurelie Athan, Melanie Brewster, and Ridhi Sandil originally came together in support of each other's independent efforts on the often marginalized subjects of s*xuality, women, and gender. They formalized this relationship when the opportunity to apply for the Teachers College Provost Investment Fund presented itself and were subsequently awarded this prestigious grant in Spring 2012, giving birth to the S*xuality, Women, and Gender Project! We hope to spur evolution in our most upheld and foundational theories of s*x and gender (and power) in the field of Psychology. Our logo symbolizes our mission, from setting blaze to outdated notions, obtaining new life from the old, and most of all inspiring our passion for excellence. [email protected]
