Heat Awareness Day is Friday May 31st; Heat is the leading weather-related killer in the United States (and locally), resulting in over one thousand fatalities (hundreds locally) each year. Everyone can be vulnerable to heat, but some more so than others. Heat related illnesses and death are largely preventable with proper planning, education, and action.
