Our 2025–2026 Annual Report is here! 🎶

This year, over 18,000 underserved students across 51 NYC schools experienced high-quality music education each week, while ETM continued to invest in music educators, build new partnerships, and expand the reach of our work.

From more than 100 school concerts and 32 student ensembles to new collaborations with YouTube, TED-Ed, Universal Music Group, and New York City Public Schools, it was a year that showed just how much music can make possible.

As we look ahead to ETM’s 35th anniversary, we’re excited to build on this momentum and bring music education to even more students.

Join us for a special evening of music at Carnegie Hall! 🎹

On October 24, acclaimed pianist and composer Richard Atkins takes the stage for Pianistically Speaking, a solo piano program spanning Chopin to Gershwin alongside his own evocative compositions.

As a special highlight of the evening, Jason Afovi, a recent student at ETM partner school P.S. 236 Langston Hughes in the Bronx, will join Richard for a performance on the Carnegie Hall stage.

We’re thrilled to celebrate Jason’s musical journey, a reflection of music’s capacity to spark creativity, build confidence, and open new possibilities for students.

A portion of proceeds from the evening will benefit Education Through Music, reflecting Richard Atkins’ and ETM’s shared belief in the transformative power of music.

We’re incredibly grateful to Carter Faith and Stetson for celebrating the power of music education with a generous $10,000 gift to Education Through Music!

The gift comes as Carter and Stetson celebrate the release of Cherry Valley Forever and their limited-edition “Your Stetson Looks Good On Me” trucker hat, inspired by the opening lyric of the song “Pearl-Handled Pistol.”

“Knowing $10,000 will be donated to help facilitate music education for underserved students is honestly the part that gets me. That’s the stuff that really matters,” Carter shared.

Thank you, Carter and Stetson, for including ETM in this special moment and helping bring music education to more students in under-resourced schools. And congratulations, Carter, on Cherry Valley Forever!
