This past week we celebrated BAL’s first cohort of the 2025 fiscal year — a small ceremony marking a major milestone for tomorrow’s drivers.

We’ve been truly amazed by the enthusiasm our students have shown throughout the program. This moment represents more than simply learning how to drive. It represents access, opportunity, and a new perspective on what’s possible after high school.

In a city where driving often isn’t prioritized, we’re proud to help bridge the gap, giving students a comprehensive understanding of how a license can become a tool for independence, employment, and long-term success.

Exposure creates opportunity.

Students at Bronx Academy of Letters heard directly from industry professionals shaping New York’s infrastructure and global commerce. Muhammad Abdullah of Godiya Co. shared insight into import/export logistics, while Felix Jusino, Duty Superintendent at the MTA, spoke on career pathways within one of the largest transit systems in the country.

Both emphasized a simple but powerful truth: obtaining your driver’s license isn’t just a milestone—it’s a gateway. It opens access to employment, independence, and long-term career mobility.

This is how pathways are built. Through access, exposure, and real conversations with those who’ve done it.

💼 Open Positions:
• Driver’s Education Specialist – $24–$28/hr (Part-Time, Queens)
Paid training included. Must pass background check and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Pathways Program Instructor – $100 per session (Contract)
Teach and mentor high-school students on driver education and real-world career skills.
