A New Year of Singing
Starting voice lessons is about more than learning songs. It’s about getting to know your voice, building confidence, and discovering how you learn best.

When a new student joins my studio, we begin by getting to know you: your goals, your experience, your interests, and the skills you already have, as well as those you’d like to develop.

From there, lessons are shaped around your individual needs:
✨Goals that grow and change with you
✨Repertoire that helps you develop while keeping singing meaningful
✨Exercises chosen specifically for your voice
✨A teaching approach that adapts as I get to know you
✨Support beyond the weekly lesson

Every singer’s journey looks a little different. My goal is to create a space where you can explore your voice, make progress, and feel supported along the way.

Looking at Every Student Through a Fresh Lens

Some of you know the meaning of my name. Stav means “Autumn,” although I was born earlier in the year, in August.
The beginning of Fall has always signified so much to me. Beyond its connection to my name, it marks the beginning of a new school year and a new Jewish year.

For me, it’s a time to reflect on the year that has passed, turn a new leaf, and set new goals, both for myself and for my students.
I pride myself on running a student-centered studio and am always looking for ways to improve.

Here’s a look at what that entails:

Goals
I review which goals were achieved, the progress they’ve made, and the new goals we can set, including unexpected achievements and discoveries along the way.

Repertoire
I go through the songs they’ve sung over the past year and make notes on which ones taught them the most, as well as which ones can now be considered “performance-ready.”

Exercises
Some exercises may no longer serve a singer, while others may need adjustments. I write down ideas to explore in our upcoming lessons and think about what will best support each student’s continued growth.

Teaching approach
After a year filled with exploration, I understand each student better.
I reflect on which aspects of my teaching approach benefited them most, what could be improved, and what I may need to let go of.

Studio improvement
Beyond renewing and purchasing equipment, I plan workshops and events designed to support my students’ growth outside of their private lessons. And I look forward to sharing them with you all!

Try this shape when singing powerful notes.

Opening the mouth alone isn't always enough. Notice those three things:
1. Tongue position (tip of the tongue and sides)
2. Wide lips
3. Open jaw without a forward push

Try it in powerful/ and soft notes. Feel and hear the result.

I LOVE my work!
Over the past 15 years, I've had the honor of helping a variety of singers and actors with different goals, levels of experience, and artistic views.

I love working with professionals as well as complete beginners, and I am constantly gathering more knowledge and tools to help different voices and different learners.

I combine vocal technique with vocal expression in song and speech, helping you build a reliable toolset for more independence and a wide range of expression. ✨

I still remember the amazement and joy I felt the first time I could suddenly do something with ease that I had struggled with for years, and realizing that I, too, could sing like my idols.
As a singer, Complete Vocal Technique (CVT) opened the door to what felt like endless possibilities in my voice.
As a teacher, I of course love having many tools to help different singers in different genres. But what continues to inspire me most is CVT’s commitment to growth, curiosity, and continued learning. Complete Vocal Institute keeps refining its research and understanding of the voice, and keeps us authorized teachers learning and evolving too.
The voice is never static. Every singer, every lesson, and every day is different. That mindset has deeply shaped the way I teach: approaching each singer with a fresh set of ears and openness rather than assuming there is only one answer or one path forward.
To me, that flexibility and curiosity is one of the most valuable parts of CVT. Both as a singer and as a teacher.

10 YEARS have passed since I graduated from Complete Vocal Institute.
What a journey it has been!

I was so thirsty for knowledge and tools to help all singers who come my way. And I'm so happy I've found Complete Vocal Technique and the supportive community of singers and teachers that I consider my global family.

10 years later, and I still learn from each lesson, each workshop, and each masterclass I teach. I'm continually expanding my toolbox to be the best teacher I can be.
