WREN MARIE HARRINGTON’s unique versatility as a performer affords her optimum advantage in training new or seasoned singers. As a classically trained soprano, she toured professionally with oratorio and opera work in New York and regionally. Eventually however, she was drawn to the lyric driven immediacy of musical theater, and a short flirtation in regional theater led to a twelve year stint on Broadway in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s "Phantom of the Opera", performing as an ensemble member, and understudying the role of the tempestuous diva Carlotta. She performed throughout the US, Europe and Latin America with orchestras and festivals in opera, musical theatre and popular music, and has recently produced and recorded a Latin jazz inspired collection of popular international songs from the 1930’s to 50’s , scheduled to be released in September, 2012. Harrington holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Iowa and is an alumnus of the L’Accademia Vocale di Lucca, in Italy and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. She is on the Board of Directors and development team of “Mainstreet Musicals”, a festival production company which brings theatre professionals together to select, distribute and exhibit live musical performance festivals throughout the United States. She is a proud member of Actors Equity Association and has been training singers for over 10 years to bridge the gap between the voice studio and the stage.
