By employing the ”fish tail“ motif to symbolize the dancer’s skirt and waist, and by mimicking natural movements—such as rippling water, willow branches swaying in the breeze, and the sinuous glide of a water snake—this art form embodies the Dai people‘s cultural ethos of ”coexisting with water.“
