THE STUYVESANT ALUMNI ASSOCIATION IS A 501(C)(3) NOT-FOR-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. THIS IS OUR MISSION:
- To maintain the relationship of alumni to Stuyvesant High School (the “School”) and to each other through written and other communications, and social, academic and other events
- To render aid and cooperation to the School in order to facilitate academic and extracurricular programs and other student activities
- To award scholarships and other grants to deserving students of the School
- To raise funds by dues, contributions, events and otherwise, in order to support those activities which result in the furtherance of the above

📣 Stuyvesant Career Day is back! Join us as a speaker to inspire the next generation.

Spend the afternoon on Friday, October 23, from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM, at Stuyvesant High School for a special school-wide event focused on careers and future pathways.

We are looking for 80+ volunteers to share their insights and experiences with current Stuy students. As a volunteer, you’ll:

➡ Lead three workshop sessions (approximately 40 minutes) about your career, industry, or profession.
➡ Engage with students eager to learn about various fields and the opportunities they offer.

Hearing from professionals like you helps students navigate an ever-changing workforce. Your real-world experience shows them what it takes to succeed in current and future careers.

Our Featured Alum this issue: Robert Lee '09, who asked a simple question, "What if the food we're throwing away could instead reach the people who need it?" and turned it into Rescuing Leftover Cuisine, a nonprofit now responsible for roughly 20 million meals across 16 cities.

At Stuyvesant, Robert didn't just participate, he built. Budgets for The Stuyvesant Spectator. A Rowing Club from scratch. Analytical instincts sharpened on the Math Team. The same instincts he'd later pour into RLC's operating model and volunteer network.

🎉 We're coming back to Pittsburgh, Stuy alumni! Join fellow grads on Tuesday, September 22, for a laid-back evening of drinks, great conversation, and catching up.

Following up on our last meetup in the city, this is another wonderful chance to reconnect with old friends and meet local alumni across all graduating classes. On this National Day of Service and Remembrance, we honor the members of the Stuyvesant community who lost their lives on September 11, 2001. They are forever in our hearts.

Stuyvesant Classes of 2002–2005 may be eligible for no-cost health care & financial compensation under federal programs established by the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.

Stuyvesant was one of the first buildings reopened after the attacks. Students and staff returned on October 9, 2001—just four weeks after 9/11—while fires were still burning at Ground Zero only a few blocks away.

Passed by Congress in 2010, the James Zadroga Act established two federal programs for 9/11 responders and survivors (including downtown students, workers, and residents): the World Trade Center Health Program (WTCHP) and the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF).

Founded in 2006 by alumni Lila Nordstrom ’02 and Amit Friedlander ’02, StuyHealth advocates for young adults exposed during 9/11 and its aftermath. Their efforts were instrumental in bringing attention to the Zadroga Act and ensuring that programs like the WTCHP provide monitoring and treatment for 9/11-related illnesses.

This is an invite across every graduating class to come reconnect with old friends or meet grads you've never had the chance to know. Stuyvesant alum Sen-Pei Hsia ’98 has reserved a space for the group at Selva, a Bushwick gem that's part bar, part record shop, part art gallery.
