Prom 24 Photo Booth π₯ class of 2024 is shutting the school year down with a bang!
Shout out to Ed and our student reps Christian, Justin, Tereak, Muzic, and (late but not least π) Quajir for attending a Youth Advocacy Day at City Hall today when they could have been chilling at home. They met with City Council members, , and attended workshops on the importance of youth voice in the policy making process.

Ms. Briβs geometry class helped student council set fair prices for our lunchtime snow cone station! Thanks to everyone who keeps us cool with snacks at lunch π
Something big is coming to the Makerspace this fall!!! Our students have been working with to create a chroma key installation that can be used for student films, photo shoots, performances, and more. The green screen technology will allow students to project their own images to create custom immersive experiences. Yesterday, students built a mini model of the installation - the last two photos show what it will look like from inside 410A and then looking in from the back Makerspace

So proud of these Makers for participating in a national Social Emotional Learning Symposium today, sharing their perspectives on the importance of empathy for all of their peers, managing emotions in challenging situations, and creating affinity spaces for groups who may be in the minority in a larger community. Shout out to Arwen, Dorje, Shayla, and Anthony for being risk takers and move Makers! And thank you to Idris for joining them!!!
Shout out to Jordan and Karen for making it happen at MSG with Barnett Scholars! Makers practiced mindfulness, heard from four MSG employees, as well as special guests Walt Clyde Frazier and Tracy Morgan!

Before students at Maker pick one of our CTE tracks in Digital Media or Computer Science, freshman take a Foundations of CTE course that introduces them to topics in both. Makers are currently learning about color theory in foundations π
