Wrapping up the 2024 Conference for Community Arts Education with an unforgettable 4th day dedicated to building inclusive cultures and economies! 🌍✨ Through theater site visits in Washington DC and insightful workshops & panels, we dove deep into creating spaces that welcome diversity in every form. Special congratulations to Paul Babcock and Madaha Kinsey-Lamb, the esteemed recipients of the Duffie Adelson Award for their incredible Lifelong Achievements in Community Arts Education. 🏆 The day was further enriched by Tsaitami Duchicela’s mesmerizing performance and Amber Hamilton’s powerful keynote, “Laughing to Keep from Crying,” sparking an empowering conversation for leaders in our space. The dialogue continued with a thought-provoking Q&A led by Durrell Cooper, wrapping up the discussions beautifully. The conference concluded on a high note with the unveiling of the Guild’s new Branding, symbolizing a Beautiful Evolution in the Arts, complemented by a special giveaway of commemorative bags featuring both the original and new branding. What a perfect ending to an extraordinary four days of learning, advocacy, and community building. Here’s to the future of Community Arts Education!

We’re pleased to announce Amber Hamilton as Friday’s 2024 Conference for Community Arts Education keynote speaker! She joins our keynote lineup featuring Prentis Hemphill, Dr. Nicole Truesdell, and Susan Magsamen!

Amber Hamilton has over 25 years of experience as a business trailblazer, coach, and trainer with expertise in leadership strategies and nonprofit management.

About the Keynote: Laughing To Keep From Crying
You are not alone. You are not making this up. You will be OK. This idealistic mission you took on to help young people activate their creative genius can also be the thing that makes you question why you didn't just go to dental school like your mother suggested. But we are in this together, and during this session, we'll find some humor in our frustrations, talk about how we can hold each other up, and wish a lifetime of midterm grant reports on our enemies.
