On this 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the John Jay College community comes together to honor the lives lost, recognize the courage and sacrifice of first responders, and remember the enduring strength of those who served, supported, and rebuilt.

Twenty-five years later, we pause to reflect, to pay tribute, and to carry forward the lessons of that day with compassion, courage, and unity.

The Civil Service Pathways Fellowship is a two-year program for CUNY graduates interested in building a career in public service.

Fellows receive a competitive salary and health benefits, gain hands-on experience at a city agency, and become eligible to take at least one civil service exam after their first year.

To be eligible, you must:
• Have a bachelor's degree from CUNY by December 2026
• Be eligible to work in the United States
• Live within the five boroughs of New York City

Applications are open through September 4, 2026. The fellowship begins January 25th, 2027.

The John Jay College Modern Language Center (MLC) is offering Language Plus – Veteran Students for Fall 2026.

Veteran students enrolled in supported modern language courses can receive:

✅ One-on-one language tutoring
✅ Weekly sessions throughout the semester
✅ A dedicated tutoring appointment each week
✅ Tutoring starting as early as August 31, 2026
