Campus s*xual violence is once again receiving national attention.
We have undergraduate Hermanas learning on college campuses across the country. We have alumnae who once walked those same campuses.
We have chapter leaders helping create cultures where members feel safe and supported. And we have Hermanas whose lives may have been directly affected by s*xual violence.
One way we can care for one another is by knowing what resources are available before they're needed.
is the nation's largest anti-s*xual violence organization and operator of the National Sexual Assault Hotline. It recommends that college students identify their campus Title IX office, confidential survivor advocate (if available), student health center, mental-health services, campus safety resources and local s*xual-assault service provider.
This information should be saved somewhere easy to find. You may never need it, but someone you care about might.
Not sure what Title IX is?
Title IX is a federal civil rights law that protects students from s*x discrimination at schools that receive federal funding. Sexual harassment and s*xual violence may fall under Title IX.
