Yesterday, one of my personal persons who came to Fordham because I am at Fordham University currently and also got a 90% scholarship told me a story about a particular cat that he saw yesterday and. This story reminded me of my last year tales about this cat in here! 👇

I never liked cats, which I am quite irritated by. I don't like to see them. I didn't like them until I came to the United States of America and my views about them changed as a result of the place stayed upon arrival in the States. I stayed for two nights with an American who has three adorable cats before I moved to my own house.

I remember one of my friends called me on a video call, and she saw me playing with the cats. Their furs were all over the couch where I laid those two nights. Let me put it this way, The cats were all over me! They loved me and welcomed me. I don't think I have any other reason to make them uncomfortable in their house.

Those two nights I stayed with my host taught me great lessons. The lessons were simply to be “accommodating and kind”. That it doesn't matter who the persons were, it doesn't matter their race, gender, and even class. To start with, I was housed by an American. Truth be told, I didn't eat for two nights at my host’s place. Why? She didn't offer me any. Truth. Was I offended? Oh, no! Why, she has done enough for me by housing for two nights! For someone who has “nobody” in America.

You see those two nights were my greatest and worst nightmares. I felt miserable too, I couldn't shower properly 😏🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️. Note I had gotten a house in America before leaving Nigeria. I will talk more about this in my subsequent posts. Those two nights were so crazy for me because I was sleeping on the couch and the cats would come and wag their tails, they wanted me to touch and play with them. Of course, I did.

Those cats changed my narrative and worldview about cats. I now love cats 🤣🤣😉. They are so beautiful, and they are big because she feeds them so well even when she herself hadn't eaten😁😁😉.

True is I had no option but to be friendly to those cats if I really wanted my host to be comfortable and the cats as well. I was unfriendly to those cats, she might feel more irritated, you don't know her views about Africans.

Since that time, I loved cats, and so recently, I stumbled upon cats . Since I joined the school over a year ago, I have not seen cats. What are your takes on cats?

Women should be able to shun every misandry of characters and traits and stand tall above all their equals. They should be ready to take responsibility for every action and scrap the idea of shifting blame. They should be prepared to learn new things in this 21st century and unlearn the archaic forms of reasoning and ideas; they should avoid pulling other women down because of culture and religion. Gone are the days when women were meant for the kitchen.

Some years back, women were addressed as ‘Oriaku,’ but today, they are called ‘Odozi aku’ and “Okpata aku” in the Igbo community. Have you ever wondered why? The reason for this drastic binary shift is simple: Women are more responsible and enlightened now; taking every chance to unfold and recreate new things, they no longer receive alone but give too.

Every human, be it a woman or man, deserves a good life; it’s easier for a man to get over so many societal maladies because being a man makes you scale through some traumas quickly, but being a woman brings you some shameful bashes.

Now, on childbearing, there is this stereotype attached to being a female child; remember, in my previous post, I wrote about “ barrenness and impotence. “ Today, we are taking a swipe at bearing “a male child at all cost.” When a woman is pregnant, after carrying about 3 to 4 pregnancies, she has about 5/6 female children. Why do I say 5/6? She might have had twins along the line. The woman becomes restless as she wants to have a male child at all costs because of pressure from culturally affiliated agents; the couple no longer considers their financial status; at this point, all the man wants is a male child who he claims would take after his lineage. They try again, another female child!

Let me come in here: science has made it easier for a woman to have XX chromosomes while a man has XY chromosomes; hence, if the couple lacks a male child, the solution should come from the man who is in desperate need of a male child. Men should stop pressurizing women for their selfish interests. Male or female, a child is a child! Why disturb eternity? You will never regret it when you can give the latter a standard education. Our concern should be more on being “responsible parents” and a “loving couple.”

Dearest friends, the earlier we start thinking of a better life for ourselves and our two to three children, the better it is. Against all odds, if you have enough billions, you can have children as you want, but remember, having children like a duck is not the main thing; the main thing is what you bequeath them and have done for humanity.

I have been seeing this Iyabo Ojo’s daughter and that Tanzania artiste and you guys think it is real! It is not real! It is a PR for his music! Only time will tell!

Last year, I made some financial mistakes I would never want anyone to make. The story is about one of my friend’s friends who was moving out of New York State and had just concluded her residency. She had some furniture and wanted to give them out. At that time last year, I was looking to move from my place to another place for privacy’s sake. I took those stuff out, put them into storage, and paid $216 every month!

I saw an apartment last year in July, but it was a bit pricey and far from my school; I needed a place close to school! What I didn’t think of on time was to give those items out last year! Until this August, I had paid over 3000$ for items I no longer need! I got a new apartment and moved in without needing those items!
Did I ever regret those actions? Yes, did I feel bad about keeping them? No! Why? I didn’t think I could afford those items now, and as time passed, I didn’t know I needed them!

I put them out on the Facebook marketplace without SELLING THEM! I gave them out FREE! I became more fulfilled as those who took those items loved them and were grateful!

Even if I sold those items, I still wouldn’t make the $2700, so giving out was the best thing I did! Lesson learned: Don’t keep items you don’t need in the storage! Don’t keep items for future use!
