'...if you will forgive me for saying it, to me the best tidings of all-the United States, united as never before, has drawn the sword for freedom and cast away the scabbard.' - PM Winston Churchill, 26 Dec 1941, US Congress, Washington, DC.

'...Ukraine holds its lines and will never surrender. ...here the front line, the tyranny which has no lack of cruelty against the lives of free people — and your support is crucial, not just to stand in such a fight but to get to the turning point to win on the battlefield.' - President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine, 21 Dec 2022, US Congress, Washington, DC.
On 26 July 2022, British PM Boris Johnson presented the Sir Winston Churchill Leadership Award 2022 to President Zelenskyy.

Yesterday marked the 76th anniversary of Winston Churchill’s Zurich Speech, in which he spoke about strengthening pan-European relations, looking towards the future constructively, and, crucially, unity.
Never has this unity been more apparent than over the last week. It seems appropriate to note that, in this time of remembrance and reflection, Churchill was HM The Queen’s first Prime Minister.
Over the next week, we will be sharing some key memories with you from his visit to Switzerland.
With thanks to the International Churchill Society, a full version of Churchills Zurich Speech can be found here: https://winstonchurchill.org/resources/speeches/1946-1963-elder-statesman/united-states-of-europe/

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the 2022 Sir Winston Churchill Leadership Award by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The event took place in Downing Street today with introductory remarks made by Chairman of the International Churchill Society, Laurence Geller CBE. He said, ‘Sir Winston Churchill once said, ‘All the greatest things are simple, and many can be expressed in a single word: freedom; justice; honour; duty; mercy; hope’. The ICS was established to memorialise these principles in Sir Winston’s name. Today, it is President Zelenskyy and his people that personify them.'
