❓What are the least competitive specialties in medicine?
📈 To determine this, we reviewed the N**P data and focused on the following:
1) US allopathic match rate
2) Overall match rate
3) Number of research items for those who matched
4) Percentage of matches who were AOA (medical school honor society)
5) Percentage matched from a top-40 NIH funded medical school.
🏥 We did not factor in USMLE Step 2 scores because there is such little significant variation in scores between the specialities (244-247).
Should you retake the MCAT?
