You've seen them before but not like this...

This emotionally riveting scene with Kimberly McCoin () and Phoenix Crepin is a perfect example of what it looks like when a scene drives your talent. We knew Kimberly had strong emotion to showcase, and Phoenix's dark side hadn't been the light, so we wrapped it all in one.

June 18th is the last day to sign up for YAFE Session 1 starting July 6th - 11th. Real on-set experience, professionally scripted and filmed reel (like this) made for you, and live coaching from me throughout. If your child star is ready to take their acting to the next level, this is your sign!

Kim Pedell, Manager at ZOOM Talent Management has seen a lot over the past 15 years in the industry, and her hot take on self tapes is to get rid of anything that doesn't serve what you're auditioning for!

Start from the outsider perspective, and ask yourself: If I'm seeing me for the first time, would I want me for this role?

In middle school telling a secret is basically announcing it on the news!

But let's talk about this beautiful balance of personality with Lola Spinale and Ella Reichbach. One brings the passionate fire to the friendship, and the other follows her heart no matter what her head tells her. It's their personal touches that make it clear who they are in under 20 seconds.

That's the magic of YAFE. We develop scenes just like this to show your best sides.

This is the conversation this industry has needed to have for a long time, and I was grateful to have it on HBO's Hollywood Demons!

This industry can be extraordinary, and it can also be brutal. Usually it's both at the same time.

It's the families who understand how this business actually works who protect their kids from the parts of it that don't make the highlight reel.

This clip is from Season 2, Episode 3: After the Bell
Thank you for having me

A year ago two loving, supportive parents entrusted me with guiding them and their daughter through the college audition process. Congrats to Arya on her acceptance to Western Michigan as a BFA musical theatre major. So happy to have been on this journey with you all.

Musical theater students, are you thinking about this yet?

Meet Tim Howard, head of the BFA Musical Theater at Western Connecticut University, a program that accepts just 16 students per incoming class!

By the time Tim's seniors graduate, they have a website, a reel, an actor's access account, and self-tape training. Most students outside of BFA programs leave with none of that, then spend their first year "catching up" but with no definitive direction on what they should be focusing on first.

Knowing how to be prepared is key!

What makes a child's career feel unstable is building on top of already unsteady ground.

It starts with knowing your place as a parent and trusting your child's team whole-heartedly who are working to protect and guide them in the industry.

๐ŸŽฌ Did you see Hollywood Demons on HBO ()?! Let me know what you thought of it in the comments!

Parents have more power over their child's career than they realize!

Any weak decision, poor judgement, or emotional outburst that they personally make can cost their child their dream career, and it can cause serious problems in the family outside of just their acting career.

My best advice is to stay in your lane, and truly lean on your child's team to determine the best course of action. How you feel may not always align, but really allowing yourself to trust that they're in good hands frees you up to be the supportive parent they need.

I recently was an industry guest on HBO's Hollywood Demons . If you haven't already, be sure to tune in and watch the new season, now live on HBO!
