Diana has been a major part of GCU from the beginning (we are coming up on our 1-year Anniversary). She has not only participated in open mics & workshops…she also co-hosted our first Summer Summit last July.
We have lots of ideas brewing for GCU in 2025 - but more on that later…right now, get to know Diana by reading the below info. Welcome DIANA!!!

Diana, a dedicated lawyer and finance professional, discovered the magic of the ukulele after attending a live concert where a band featured the instrument. Despite never having played an instrument or showing any musical inclination before, she was captivated by its charm and decided to give it a try. Armed with determination and YouTube tutorials, Diana taught herself how to play. Now, the ukulele is a daily part of her life, bringing her immense joy and a sense of fulfillment. She often shares that picking up the ukulele has been one of the happiest decisions she’s ever made, proving that it’s never too late to find a new passion. Diana lives in New York City and spends time in Honolulu during the winter months. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

Happy Monday! Here I am with my Ohana Ukuleles custom DTK-2 all-solid deluxe koa tenor ukulele. It’s been a dream getting acquainted over the past couple of weeks! I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing and hearing him as well - yep…I said him. Just feels “male” to me. I enjoy spending time in my garden playing (and eating!). Big week ahead as I prepare for the Gotham City Ukes summertime summit in the Catskill Mountains.

Are you ready?! Gotham City Ukes is having our 1st Annual Summertime Summit in the beautiful Catskills Mountains! The event itself is FREE (though make sure you have cash on hand for food and various activities - many places don’t accept cards).

We will meet at noon on Saturday, July 27th near Bethel, NY (under 2 hours from NYC). We’ll have lunch and spend some time at the lake/beach before heading back to the studio at my friend Diana‘s place for an open mic at around 5pm EDT. If you’d like to spend the night, we can recommend hotels nearby!
On Sunday, we’ll do some more playing before heading to the Woodstock Museum and maybe back to the lake (time permitting).
