Do. Not. Use. Anyone’s. Biometric. Data. For. AI. 🤖 AI is not “just a tool.” It learns from what you upload into it. And when you’re uploading someone else, that person may lose control over their voice, their likeness, their movement, their biometric data. For actors it’s terrible because we make a living from ourselves. For everyday non-actors it’s also terrible because you have no idea what these systems will do with that data. (For example, I was able to access my bank account using a synthetic version of my voice saying “my voice is my password, please verify me.”) The laws have not caught up to the technology. Just because something is legal, doesn’t mean it’s ethical. Please share with your friends and colleagues. 🎉 Happy 95th Birthday to the legendary Marla Gibbs! Born on June 14, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, Marla didn't find her big break until her 40s — proving it's never too late to shine!

Before Hollywood came calling, she was working as a reservations clerk for United Airlines. Then came The Jeffersons, and the rest is history. Her portrayal of the sharp-tongued, scene-stealing maid Florence Johnston made her one of the most beloved characters in television history — earning her five Emmy nominations and a permanent place in our hearts.

But Florence was just the beginning. Ms. Marla went on to create and star in her own hit sitcom, 227, which ran from 1985 to 1990, cementing her status as a true television powerhouse. Nearly a century into a life well-lived, Marla Gibbs remains a icon — a testament to talent, tenacity, and timing.

We are so grateful she brought Florence into our living rooms, and even more grateful she stopped by the Rolonda Show for this unforgettable reunion. Here's to 95 years of pure greatness! 🥂
