We are delighted to share that Dr. Shaohua Fang has accepted a tenure-track position in Linguistics and Psychology at Montclair State University!
After earning his Ph.D. in Linguistics from the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Fang joined us as a CIFLTE Fellow (2023–2024), where he further developed his expertise in second language theory, research, and pedagogy. During his time at CIFLTE, he co-authored with Professor ZhaoHong Han:
Fang, S., & Han, Z.-H. (2025). On the nascency of ChatGPT in foreign language teaching and learning. Annual Review of Applied Linguistics, 45, 148–178.
Fang, S. H., & Han, Z.-H. (2025). OASIS Summary (in press), Annual Review of Applied Linguistics.
Prior to this appointment, he served as the Ross-Lynn Postdoctoral Fellow at Purdue University and as a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, contributing to a wide range of collaborative research initiatives.
