Dr. Martha Eddy, CMA, RSMT, EdD and creator of BodyMind Dancing™ is an exercise physiologist, dance educator and somatic movement therapist. She is the author of "Mindful Movement" and lectures worldwide on the field of Somatic Movement Education and Therapy and Dance Somatics. She specializes in eco-somatics, neuro-motor and socio-emotional development and peace education (www.EmbodyPeace.org). Martha has been a highly regarded faculty member in the dance departments of Princeton, Columbia, SFSU, NYU, UNC-Greensboro, Hope and Hampshire Colleges, as well as for the Laban/Bartenieff Institute and School for Body-Mind Centering® and her own Dynamic Embodiment™ Somatic Movement Therapy program. BodyMind Dancing™ has been featured internationally in studios, at dance festivals and MindBodySpirit and dance education conferences. In NYC Martha founded and directs the Center for Kinesthetic Education providing “healthy dancing” for children with diverse needs in public and private schools. She founded Moving For Life Dance Exercise for Health® in 1999, which has been featured on NY1, CNN, Fox News, Today Show and CBS. Martha works privately with clients who range in age from pre-natal to the elderly. Dynamic Embodiment's classes are held around New York City and include representation at studios, such as Movement Research (www.movementreasearch.org), Brooklyn Arts Exchange (bax.org), Balance Arts Center (balanceartscenter.com) and Pono Learning Center (pono.nyc).
